There are no special conditions on getting him such having certain spell books so it's just luck of the draw.

I've played this and now i'm playing the apotheosis mod for while now. There is one hero that i've never been able to get. The one named after you Xeth. How the hell does he look like ? I've been even trying to save scum the champion spell to no avail.

@RanDumGal - That's an ability from Biff's mod I believe but I can answer it. Any abilities you want to add (or remove) from a unit are in the DB_SUBRACE_XXX.xml file where XXX is the mod's version of the file. If the unit in question isn't there you have to add it which is easiest done by copy/pasting it from the base game file of the same name. For the unit(s) you want to add it to, you would put something like this:

<Skills VALUE="SKILL-SCAVANGER"/>

I'm only guessing the name of the skill here, best is to copy/paste from another unit that already has the skill from the mod's file.

I have a question about editing racial units. Gnolls, specifically. Their spearmen and swordsmen have the scavenger trait, and I'd like the rest of the gnoll units to have it. How might I go about that?

@ArcaniteM - I won't be adding any more features to the mod. Biff has added a lot to his so you could try asking him for his mod.

@wingren013 - I think this is a display bug for the ability. It should work properly even though it says 0.

The Spectre of the Fallen Men has its Gaze Attack at value 0. Which means it does nothing.

Hello friend. Would it be possible to add a undead faction ?
Something like necropolis from heroes games. A Egyptian theme perhaps so they dont look necessarily evil.

The main issue with more races is that I don't have a way to add 3D models so I'd have to reuse existing assets. There is room for other races using them but also there was weird limitations. Your example of a centaur race would reuse the one model for every unit which would be confusing.

I hope you could considere adding a couple more races, some examples of cool races: kitsunes, centaurs, satyrs, eagle winged men (like the race of Maleficent real action movie)...

@Fieswurst - No, my mod is basically complete at this point. It's mostly a content mod first with some tweaks. I;ll keep an eye out of developments though so if something else big comes along I'll update it to be compatible.

@DarkGlam - I do not have a patron, I'm not looking for any compensation thank you. I don't have really a balancing mod just a few nerfs here and there like hero leveling where the amount of stat increases from skills like Might, Agility, etc are halved to +1 every 2 levels. I don't plan to release anything like that any time since it's not a real mod.

@ArcaniteM - Try deleting the Profiles folder located by default at C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\MuHa Games\MoM. There have been a number of save corruption issues (even without mods) and deleting this usually fixes them.

I am having issues when I try to run this mod along side the last dlc.
Only this mod + all the dlcs, and the game wont allow saves anymore.

@zamodics - It's doable, but would require replacing a bunch of 3D models and I am not an artist. If I were I'd make new models for the new races first I think.

I have considered doing a large overhaul of Klackons and Gnolls above than the additions I already did gave them. One of the main issues is that I'm limited to reusing the 3D models in game for units. I could add buildings but again have to reuse something. One idea I have is to make a hatchery for the klackons to allow large a population increase but maybe at the cost of production.

The leveling change to heroes would require new code to the game for sure. Also they are already a bit too powerful as is.

More races and/or vanilla races overhauled!

A bit like the Renaissance mod for Warlock 2, i feel the races in the original game lacked a bit of content and deepness (more to build, more choices, more synergies, more units that look and play different than the standard ones...)

Level up of units and heroes is a bit lackluster too, but well, the system was "simple" in the original game, but i would have loved that the remake would introduce some sort of more interesting leveling (more levels, and choices to do), but that may be completely another game aha

I think you can remove a number of unmodified script methods by using "using MOMScripts" at the top of your script files.

That should allow your scripts to call into the base game scripts.

I'm not sure what else could be the cause unless there's an issue with another mod lower in the list you have that is some how interfering. You could try verifying the files in Steam as well. Also I have the mod up on nexusmods - https://www.nexusmods.com/masterofmagic/mods/21

@bob48 - You probably need to click the mods button at the bottom right at the main screen in game and check/tick the box and it'll turn green. You'll then be prompted to restart the game and should be good to go.

Paladins are less good against high-tier purely mundane enemies, to be clear. Still good, just less so.

Paladins have Magic Immunity; get Adamantine Paladins and you can literally drive them right through lairs that would normally take 6 Champions to defeat. Also if any of them die, replacements are cheap; Adamantine or Mithril Paladins cost the same as regular Paladins. Especially given that Remake flying ranged units will engage in melee once they run out of ammo, and they probably will before doing more than denting your army.

Still not as generally deadly as Adamantine Slingers under Warlord+Crusade, but...

@eshuundara: I consider this a compliment that I balanced them well. None of them are meant to be particularly OP. Comparing them to Paladins which are OP though you'll probably always be disappointed.

Kobold's strength lies in their ability to make towns/population fast and have high production to crank out tons of Contraptions/Igniters. Mystics are really strong for an Arcanus race I feel, especially when you look at the race as a whole and not just its units. Fallen Men Specters can be very good though not as good as Paladins of course. Elders don't benefit from multiple casting true but they are non glass cannon magician type units. Ideally you have a few plus the Black Prayer lowers enemy resistance to let the Medusae stone them.

I wanted to say how much I appreciate all your hard work. I like how you've been buffing underpowered things, adding new spells, etc. All in all I've only got one real complaint: the new races just don't do it for me, especially towards the end. Paladins are flat out superior than anything the new races provide. Atlantean Elders cast Black Prayer but it doesn't stack there's no point in having more than one of them. These aren't deal breakers, but it makes it harder to collect the units I'm fond of since the pool of races has gotten larger. In my current game there are zero dark elf cities on the map so it feels like I'm missing out on having Warlocks just to have Elders who are worse. I'd feel just as grumpy if there were no high men cities, but there were a bunch of Kobolds on the map instead. The new races just don't fill a niche that was missing or do anything better than many of the original races, so I do wish there were a toggle to play without them.

You have some interesting modifications to the base game.

I probably would have used "Halfling Pony Riders" instead of "Hogs", as they really needed a basic mounted troop type. ("hogs" sounds so Arkansas... )

Also noticed you nerfed the High Men Pikemen a bit. That unit was better than the other races, which gave the humans their special early tier unit. (AP + Negate First-Strike, nice)

The Alchemist's Guild doesn't add Enchanted Weapons as a fallback if no metal resource exists.

@Rachenickoto All the notes are on the readme file with the latest additions being at the bottom of the change log at the top. Some units got changed around to fix bugs which is what makes old saves not work. I only makes these changes when I have to and the last bug was pretty bad (Death Knights could get killed by a single Phantom Warriors!)
