honestly if there is a way to script the starting provinces for reformation you should. i dont always want it to be accurate but when i do it would be nice

Maybe Poland too?

Maybe a factor that could be played on is the duration of the Religious Zeal modifier when caused by a conversion by a center of reformation ?

I feel like in this case this could be fixed by having events and decisions remove it for some areas

@EasyCo it does railroad the game a bit, I agree, but making the game more historical with zero railroading is kind of impossible imo
Still, i'll see if i can scale that down, maybe add ways to remove/work around the resistance to reformation modifier, so that it's not impossible to convert those provinces, just more difficult than in vanilla

I like the idea, but it feels a bit too much like forced railroading in my opinion. By the time the Reformation starts in the game, enough events and changes that didn't occur IRL could have occurred that would make it perfectly reasonable for the Reformation to take hold even in places it wasn't able to IRL.

Just off the top of my head, one possibility could be a resurgent Byz and Orthodoxy influencing religion in Europe, or influential countries in Italy who are opposing the pope.

Ireland, Flanders and Northern france could use it too, even if a bit weaker.

southern france on the other hand could use becoming a bit weaker to reformation.

Finally! could you include Ireland in the mix? might break the English ai tho.

I think a better option would be through some government mechanic or idea or something. The Reformation did spread in in Italy and Iberia (especially northern Italy with the Waldensians who were before the Reformation) but they got persecuted pretty severely.
