One of the bots gave me their medpack. they didn't use it on me, they handed it over to me... how can I do this? is this a normal thing in unmodded or is this something in this mod? or could it be another mod I have?

How do I get bots to not only follow me, but also go ahead of me or even overtake me, as in L4D1?

@jenarobinson head to ems/left4bots2/cfg/weapons and you'll find pages for each character, including during their appearance during the Passing. If you remove the grenade launcher from their lists, they won't pick it up. Check the add-on customization page linked in the description to learn more about it

Try changin' values of these settings in "settings.txt" to "0":

Try changing the "orders_no_queue" to value from 0 to 1 in the "settings.txt" located at "...\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\ems\left4bots2\cfg".

Can you make something similar to "handle_l4d1_survivors" setting but for L4D2 survivors as well? That'd be great since I plays "United We Stand" mutation and the L4D2 survivors does not want to pick up any items & weapons unless I uses Admin System or uses the Vocalizer to manually tell them to pick up stuffs.

@Resident Raccoon The "hurry" command will make them cancel any current order and ignore everything for a duration defined in the settings (default 30 seconds iirc). This should cause them to follow you while ignoring the tank.

@jenarobinson Each bot has a pickup configuration file in ems/left4bots2/cfg/weapons. Putting the grenade launcher all the way to the right in the top line should make the given bot prefer any other main weapon over it.

I have two problems. The bots keep shooting Boomers when they're near me, and they make a beeline for the safe room when close regardless of how dangerous it is, especially if there's a Witch in the entrance. I can't seem to find the settings in the text files, but if I somehow missed it, what settings should I change?

Pretty damn great...I can never get the 'follow' command to work though..anytime a tank shows up, I try to yell 'follow' or 'run' and it's usually fruitless

for the bots grabbing ammo when a tank is around, what is wrong with that? the alternative is them not grabbing ammo, and then swapping to their pistol and or melee weapon because they "ran out of primary ammo"

Some issues I've found:
- Bots will try to grab ammo when there are other priorities (Like a tank)
- They won't enter the safe room when there are special infected about
- During the crane segment on Dead Air, they can't pathfind up to the rooftop you need to jump across to the lowered crate from
- They don't move out of fire made from white explosive barrels or the Leaker, if enabled

I like this addons. However, I found a big issue.
Sometimes, they were trying to find their own path, resulting to leave me alone. I tried to lead them to the right path but they kept trying to find their own path.
And sometimes, they got stuck.
As the result, I restarted the Left 4 Dead and everything became normal.

@DrHanMattan if you want to suffer just like you used to with default bots, here are some settings to turn l4bots2 just as dumb as default bots. Also delete all code in the settings_impossible and settings_hard files.

Is there anyway to assign more names to a bot when using commands? Say, for example, I wanted to be able to input "roch heal" instead of "rochelle heal" and still have Rochelle be commanded to heal.

During the finale in No Mercy, I was on the roof but one of the bots spawned back near the saferoom and was stuck in that area, constantly going back and fourth between heading to the elevator shaft and the saferoom. The only other Survivor AI mod I had (besides Left 4 Lib and Navfixes) was NB's Simple AI Improvements.

hey devs? since you have a "spit_block_nav" setting in game, can you also add a "fire_block_nav" setting? this would prevent the bots from running into the fire in the default campaigns that have fire hazards by default.

i notice that one to 2 bots on dead center will run through the fire when they get into the "kitchen" area of the part that is on fire when there is a safe way around it

They seem to be suicidally obsessed with running into molotovs. It almost seems like a bug - they'll be standing around, chilling, but the precise moment they see fire, they will drop everything to specifically and deliberately kill themselves with it.

They do the same thing with environmental fire. I'd think its just dumbness but it really does seem deliberate.

You need to use the "I'm with You" vocaliser command instead of "Lead" command. Only then the bots will pickup Cola, press Elevator button, pour gas, etc on their own.

Navigate to "...\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\ems\left4bots2\cfg" then open the "settings.txt" file.
Set "throw_molotov = 0", "throw_pipebomb = 0" & "throw_vomitjar = 0" then you're good to go!

Idk if it's just me, but the bots seem to be unable to complete the Finale on The Passing and the crane section of Last Stand? They have 0 other issues with other maps that I've encountered, but whether I am dead, alive, spectating, using automation, etc... they just walk in circles?

In general it seems most of these bot improvement mods are a little too effective. I don't really care for how braindead they are by default but I don't like how powerful most of these mods on the workshop make them to overcompensate. Seems hard to find that Goldilocks zone.

Also for anyone who was wondering like I was the "manual_attack skill" setting I've seen people mention in threads and videos has now been changed to be several different variables. While it allows more fine tuning in theory I wish there was a simpler way to adjust the bots performance as they make expert and expert realism too much of a cakewalk by default.

I still think the "Advanced Bot AI" mod is the best I've used so far

so i got incapped by a tank so the bots threw a molotov at it to kill it and after they killed the tank they ran through the fire and all got incapped :steamsad:
