Did some testing with it and it's really cool for drone defense/counter-offense gameplay. I'm just wondering though, does the DroneGun actually disable large attack drones in one shot from a distance like that in real life?
Yes; I'm trying to finish graduate school in next 2 months, so time available should significantly increase after that.
If the Mavic counts as a UAV for Arma, it should work. Only one I have seen that doesn't is RHS's Raven drone, since it's technically not a UAV, but a scripted object.
@devildogg237, what features would you want?
Yes, it is! Slowly fine-tuning scripts for area drone jammers, but real-life's been keeping me busy!
If you change the license, on the one hand, it would let other users modify and reupload your work. However, it also means that any changes they make are not theirs to hoard. They have to allow others the same permission to remix and reupload any expansion on the work.
A lot of the ArmA 3 modding community doesn't do this for some reason, and it's really something that I feel is untapped potential for a modding community this large. But, do as you see fit. At least switch to this license if you ever decide to move on from this project and leave it behind.
But keep it up! There is A TON of potential to discover here (that should have been added by Contact DLC to be honest)
I'm working on modeling a jammer to put on vehicles, but I'm NOT a good modeller, so it'll take me a while!
@chris.710
Send me a message about what other mods you've tested it with. I'm not sure what the issue could be, but I'll take a look!
Latest update fixes infantry unit glitch. Small error in config, quick fix. Sorry!
@leetgrain
It *should* be compatible with Crows' EW, in the sense that it shouldn't stop Crows' mod from working at all! However, my mod adds more functionality/effects than Crows. As far as I remember, with Crows' jammer, you need to a)put a signal source to UAVs, and then grab the Contact spectrum analyzer with the jammer attachment, and you can only jam drone signals from the drone controller.
My mod goes a bit further, by forcing UAVs to land, or return to operator, or completely frying a drone.
Dimensions are direct from manufacturer! Check out droneshield.com , and navigate to their DroneGun Tactical to see them. It's definitely a big weapon!
Sorry it's not working as intended for you! Couple of questions:
a)What other mods were you running when you tried it?
b) What UAV did you test it against?
c) did you change any of the settings under AddOn Settings?
Note: the gun doesn't make a sound or shoot any visible projectile, nor does it have recoil, so it might've been working as intended but you might not have realized.
Nowadays, I don't laugh anymore.
Thanks! Glad y'all are liking it! XD
Thanks, I'll try and reproduce. You might've had another mod that modifies the launcher base class, leading to the damage. But I'll and find why it was doing damage.
@Wild Napr
Yes, it's a gun like any other, for arma purposes. From my testing, though, AI tend to not spot drones, so I wouldn't count on them doing a great job at it.
Is the AI capable of using the C-UAS gun?
Which of the two versions were you using, the Rifle or Launcher version?
I thought I'd removed all backblast effects from the launcher version, but maybe didn't.
one thing though: you can wound infantry with the gun when firing.
