Looks like Hector's having the same textureless arm issue as Annie and Mildred. Must have something to do with Shortsleeve shirts.

Another custom merc(not one of yours) who uses a short sleeve shirt also has a weird arm texture issue, but with her the arms become yellow instead of grey. Patricia something. I forget her last name but it's vietnamese.

I like Hector and Samuel the most out of your mercs. Nice work making their icon similar to the vanilla icons.

I only found out about your mods just now. Impressive work!

However, I noticed that the bio says that he is supposed to be battle-tested, yet he starts at level 1?

@otherguy is it possible that I could receive permission to release a version of Hector patched to add him to my M.E.R.C. mod?

also, i've figured out how to make mercs banter with each other. I'd love to add interactions between Hector and my mercs-- if you could share whatever voice samples and settings you used to make this one I'd appreciate it!

Really cool merc. One bit of feedback on the back story though. Cuba is actually one of the few countries in Central or South America that doesn't have much of a history of "drug cartel wars", not since the 1950's maybe 60's anyways. No reason he couldn't have left Cuba at some point and got busy in Florida, Guatemala, Columbia, etc. though!

Hello Everyone

I just want to give you a short update on a known issue that was reported to me, about the passive perk icon appearing multiple times when being on the sector map.

I did some further investigation and discovered, that the icon might get added multiple times to your action bar as soon as you activate some mod through the mod-manager during the same active client session. Doesn't matter which mod. This operation will cause a complete reload of all mods and therefore the passive display icon will be added multiple times to the runtime library. I have to do some further investigation on how to avoid this, but I can assure already, that it's only a display issue. The functionality of the passive perk itself is independent from its display and should work as intended.

Nevertheless for the time being a client restart after adding new mods will fix this problem till i found a more elegant code-wise solution.

Ha! Hector not good english. But Hector likes being photomodel. Hector was photomodel back in cuba for book cover of "Anger Management for Dummies: How to get rid of your psychologist in five simple slaps".

And Sam is chill about it for sure as well ;)

By the way: Very nice job on the weapon package so far! Really looking forward the things to come. Have to take a closer look on the blender importer myself next weekend but i guess i will focus on some banters for the mercs first.

Hello Everyone,

I just deployed the necessary update for the official Jagged Alliance Patch Version 1.1.0 for "Hector". Please make sure to update your mod to the latest version (1.04-048). You can check the current mod version you have installed in your Mod-Manager.

As far as I'm aware, this update should be fully compatible with existing saves. I just tested my own save and everything seams to work as expected. Nevertheless, if you are encountering any unexpected issue related to the merc after you updated it, just drop me a short message here and I will have a look at it. Thank you in advance!

Hello Everyone,

Some minutes ago I released the first iteration of the perk update for "Hector" that adds in his new custom passive perk called "Last Man Standing". Based on his actual level, this will increase the defensive capabilities whenever "Hector" is involved in an auto-resolve of a conflict on the satellite map.

Please note, that this change will have no effect to any existing saves. This is caused by the fact, that the game is saving all "current traits" of a merc within the gamestate itself. This makes perfect sense, because the player will add new traits over the playthrough time when mercs advances and level up. In consequence, this change of his default trait will only take place in new games you are going to start in future.

@dragonscale: Yeah, Hector has definitely some RP'ish elements and I would really like to hold on to the somehow useless Psycho/Trainer combo. The main Perk i had in mind for him, is to give him the ability to passively increase the combat power of local militia during auto resolve situations by a %-value. This would fit his character and will make him a good choice for choke point security as well. Will start to fiddle around with this on the next weekend. Adding in a close combat ability sound good to me as well, i mean, he had to punish lazy militia anyways. I'll put this one on my todo list.

@XXX_420_Bad_Boy: This sounds good to me! Just to give you a short roadmap: I'm planing to balance various things out in the next couple of days regarding the perks and gameplay side of things of the Mercs first. If things are good in that regard, i'll come back to you, if you are fine with that?

@otherguy are you willing to accept some feedback/alterations on your ingame models? I think I've been able to substantially improve on a few of them. a couple just need skin tone alterations, etc but I think I've gotten a few others closet to your bio images.

Honestly, this is great. I love the idea of a high leadership merc with serious drawbacks (he's a psycho). I would see if you can make him disliked by more other mercs.

@JutterX: To answer your question - it depends. In my case i always try to answer myself the following question first: What product offers a voice, that is going to fit the overall design of the Merc i'm currently working on. Right now, there are various tools out there that deliver acceptable results. In order not to violate applicable rights in your country as well as the steam workshop rules itself, you have to make sure, that the software you are going to use, comes with a full commercial licence for worldwide distribution. Currently i can recommend to take a further look at the products from ElevenLabs, Speechify, Replica and Murf. I hope this points you in the right direction for further investigation.
