Keen to try this but curious how it may work with attempting to get Super Sustainable. I've always been bothered by the way incubators work, and while it presents an interesting gameplay challenge, it just makes no darn sense to just toggle them on/off briefly for a buff.

I don't have qualms with this mod existing, but I suppose I should note for people that seem to be misguided in the comments section, the incubator used to work exactly like this before, during one of the ranching upgrades that added it. It was later changed to work the way it does now some updates later. The way it works right now is like, the second or third iteration of the incubator in terms of mechanics, I'm pretty sure, as someone who was there.

I think klei just thinks there are more interesting ways to do incubation compared to just a constant power drain in exchange for incubation. what klei is doing by making the incubator work the way it does is put in a logic problem that the player can solve in a few different ways with varying levels of efficiency. the way it works now is *not* an exploit. it is intended.

That's actually not a bad idea, it probably wouldn't be too hard to add a configurable XP multiplier

@SnackJunkie Why not flip the table about this ?
Instead of adding a new buff etc to give more Ranching XP, maybe just increase a little the XP they earn when they use the Grooming station ?

It could be interesting because @Gem is right, it's not a lot but in early game it's still delaying a little their XP and how fast ranching skill increase for better productivity.

It might be possible but it would require adding a completely new buff instead of just modifying the existing one, and it doesn't really fit the idea of the mod

Is it possible to allow duplicants to lullaby eggs for some minor increase in addition to the powered incubation? They are otherwise missing out on a lot of ranching experience.

I tried to find what I was talking but I failed, it seems that some Mods was capable of this but some of them didn't work anymore or are incompatible with other Mods I'm using.

修改了孵化器的功能使其更为合理。一个孵化器需要能源才能让一个复制人拥抱它,从而提供一整天的孵化增益,这一点是没有任何意义的。现在,复制人不能再唱摇篮曲哄骗蛋了。有电的孵化器将自动应用增益,该增益已经被重命名为“动力孵化器”,增益将只持续到孵化器有电的时候。

Oooh, this mod is nice. And when combined with Ranching overhaul, you can modify the buff applied :) Insta hatching eggs :)

If you find a mod to change the power requirement I don't see it being incompatible. This mod only hooks into two methods. One to check if the egg needs to be hugged, to set the result to false so the dupes never get the errand, and add the buff. And the other when initializing the buff to change its name, description, and duration.

On an other hand, I would really like to have, at least, the possibility to change the Power needed for an incubator, or the heat generated, with a tab in Mod Manager.
This would be even more interesting in my opinion than my weird ideas above ^^'
I'm asking this because if I choose to use the exploit was because I always tough that the incubator need too much power and release too much heat (and with the new pip, it's even more obvious)

PS: I'm assuming that using an other mod who edit the incubator as low chance to be compatible.

I tried to find a mod like this since the first time I learned who to use (and abuse) of incubator with a Timer/cycle Sensor.
This mod is amazing, great job and thanks for sharing this with us :meepstarry:

I really like what you did, but I'm a boring nerd who try to stick to Mods who are somehow "lore friendly" and keep, if possible, vanilla in game feature.
It's sad that we will not see the Dups doing the Lullabi things on Egg, maybe it could be interesting if the Egg still need this action from Ranching Dups, but only the first time, and keep the buff name changed like you did as "Powered Incubator".
Maybe with the need that a Rancher just come to check if it's ok after 50% of growing or something ? :meepwow:

I don't know, it's just some ideas that I share, if by any chance you would like to try to add something more with mod.

Even noting that exploit, it was really weird that the incubator itself did nothing without the hug. At the very least it should have been split 50/50 to make sense, this mod just simplifies it all together.

I doubt it's intended, it's presumably an exploit that Klei didn't think of. I expect the proper fix would be to remove the lullabied buff when the incubator loses power.
