These are based off of a prototype weapon called a "Sarvis Device" which was an arm-mounted m1 carbine intended for use by pilots in the 1950's.

Modeling/texturework is great, but I'm just confused as to what purpose they serve. There doesn't seem to be any blunt/bladed bits on the front so I feel like I'm missing the idea here.
