But my "faster than usual" ships are the "interceptor"-variants: Tigershark-class interceptor corvette (3-slot) / Roughrider-class interceptor frigate (4-slot) Arbiter-class interceptor destroyer (5-slot) / Valiant-class interceptor cruiser (7-slot) ... that are some, altho the difference isn't thaaat great.
Funnily enough i am actually planning to make a series of combat ships designed primarily designed around speed ... but yeah ... i am not that fast and have a looot of things i wanna do ... and my low-end PC isn't helping either ^^
What would say is your fastest series of ships, starting from early game (iron + titanium only) and lasting until the endgame? Assuming you have them, is there a particular model name you use for them that I can search for, like "Whiptail"?
1.) Yepp, my small ships tend to be on the slower side (especially my RALLY early ones and the Whiptail-class here is a variant of one of my very first designs ^^), that's for two reasons, A: the way Avorion handles speed and acceleration greatly favors really big ships and B: my ships tend to be quite heavily armored and especially early on, that makes a MASSIVE difference. I mean the quest reward ship has like what? 300-500 HP or something ^^.
2.) That's primarily because i design the ships with VERY specific roles and outfitting in mind that might only REALLY apply to the way i happened to play the game and one of these "rules" is that i don't really design ships with more or bigger weapons than i am planning to actually use on the ship, there are a handful of "soft" exceptions to that but that ship in particular is one of these.
Hope that clears things up a bit and i hope that you enjoy the designs anyways^^
1. Speed - The quest reward Lady Adventurous is faster than this ship and has the same 3 slots. Do you have anything this early game and faster?
2. Turrets - Only size 0.5s. I mentioned this in a previous comment on a different ship and figure I'm probably in the wrong because I can just plop size 1 and 1.5+ turrets right on the hull. I guess I'm just more functionality-minded. The turrets designed on these all look very good but I'd personally like to see more versatility. Just a subjective thing, though.
In any case, I appreciate your ships. I just started a campaign with 6 people and we're going to the end. I linked your workshop to our Discord because I know these are excellent ships to try (and most of us suck at building).
