Just want to give a warning here that fast traveling can break some quests, for example the "Cut the throat of the Cutthroat" and the related "Invaders must die" quests which are about defending Hammer Island from pirates. I fast traveled to hammer island for those quests and the pirates didn't spawn, apparently it had happened to someone else in the game Discord. Had to complete the quests via console.

I like that there's travel time for TP, but it would be nice if it displayed the travel time. Another thought; it would be nice to have a console command that disables the travel time. I hadn't noticed it even passed time on my run. Thanks for the mod and the convenience it gives!

this mod is PERFECT cant play without it now, it might not be something you want on your first playtrough(or you do) but if i were to do any of my 10 playtroughs with out it i would feel as if i wasted my mental strenght(i forget to do things and need to come back to the same spot many times)

you need to enable it as a mod when starting a new game. you can't add mods to existing games.

I subscribed to this mod, however its not showing up in the journal.
I've restarting the game, steam and even my PC, any ideas ?

travel time now varies depending how 'far away' the destination is.

This mod actually ended up making the game be unable to start so I had to disable it in order to properly start the game.

the 8 hour thing was a fairly late addition and i'm not particularly happy with it.
I'm going to try and work on a version that varies the time depending on how far you're travelling, but it could take a little while before it's complete. It'll stay the 8 hour version til then.

Good point. I'm not opposed to it either way. This game in fact even has an instant teleportation fast travel via the obelisk.

But if you arrive at an inconvenient time, can't you simply fast travel backwards and forwards again? That would progress the time 16 hours forwards, which would be the same time as 8 hours back which should make it day time again in most cases. Sure it's not convenient but this way you don't have to waste time AFKing or wasting gold.

Also, each in game minute is equivalent to about 2.5 real life seconds, or about 24x faster than IRL time. So if a town takes 1 minute to walk to, that would mean ~24 minutes of in-game time has passed. So I think half an hour would be a more reasonable amount of time passing when fast travelling, at least within the same island.

Revalopod that is incorrect. There are plenty of games where fast travel acts as a teleport and is instant. Furthermore, in most games where time does pass during fast travel, the amount of time that passes is relevant to the amount of time that would actually pass from physically walking there. My biggest issue here is the AMOUNT of time that passes. The time is set to around 8 hours no matter what, and 8 hours should not pass while fast traveling to a town <1 minute away if you walked there. This would be perfectly fine in a game without a day/night cycle, but for anyone to suggest that 8 hours passing while using a "Fast travel" mod that is supposed to be convenient, is out of pocket. In a game like this with a day/night cycle, 8 hours passing causes you to have to wait irl for townspeople to wake up 1/2 the time, and the kicker is you usually have to wait longer than it would have taken to walk in game. Either that, or spend money to sleep; neither of which are convenient.

That's how fast travel always works in games. It's fast for the end user, not the player character.

Why does this mod make time pass when it's supposed to be FAST TRAVEL? It should be instant, not hours and hours later.

Online games do not take effect as long as you exit the game MOD, only single player games do not affect it

BTW! probably unintended by the mod, but since 8h pass for every fast travel, I noticed that mobs have usually respawned, which let's me grind XP at my hearts content.

Mods aren't meant to be disabling achievements afaik, that will hopefully be fixed soon

at time of writing, mods in multiplayer aren't saving properly, and then can't be reenabled, this will be fixed in a patch with some other things pretty soon!

in the console type `toggle e_cheats` there isn't a cheat to remove that tho, i can make a mod for it easily enough though
