The mod worked for me after a fresh, clean re-install.. So hopefully it'll work for you too!
I have noticed some small issues with modding in a custom model like this. It seems if you want the original revolver back, you need to re-launch the game.
If you wanted the revolver to replace the model entirely, and not have to enable it in the custom stories menu, you can easily just go searching for the workshop files and replace the existing revolver files with the workshop files (Be sure to make a backup!)
Sorry for any confusion, and again let me know if this is working or you run into any issues. I want to try playing around with different model swaps, but I need to know this works properly first.
Sorry for the confusion everyone, I want to get this working again as soon as I can.
Its strange this mod works flawlessly on the computer I built it on (even through the steam workshop file, not local files), but broken anywhere else.
I ended up getting it working, and got all the way to the point in the bunker where the soldier hands you the gun and it worked fine throughout.
My best guess is that when it uploads the files to steam, some kind of connection breaks? Maybe this is something I need to upload to MODDB or Nexus instead
I'll have to try installing this on another computer to see if it works, I only have myself testing this mod unfortunately, and it worked well on my end. If I find something missing I'll let you know
If so, might need to find the workshop files in your steam folders, and you can manually replace the model files with the locally installed ones. Just be sure to make a backup!
On Windows:
- Right click the exe and click "properties"
- move over to the "compatibility" tab in the properties window
- Enable Compatibility mode under the drop-down for "Windows 8"
- Apply and hit OK, run the exe.
Love the mod.
