Update: Kinda worked myself ahead of my intended schedule, and that's the last of the encounters rewritten and rebalanced for the new functionality. Daemon armies are sooooo much better now in particular.
I'm going to try and step away from adding/changing stuff for a bit and hope there are enough people still using the mod to find and report any problems.

No worries! Spread the word that it's back and even better than before! I should have an update tonight with rewrites and rebalances for the remaining encounters. Being able to adjust encounter army sizes on the fly was an absolute game changer.

Update: Rewrote the backend for choosing factions, and generating armies in order to have better performance.
Added direct support for factions to be able to draw on different army sets (previously, I used a hacky method. Actually, all my methods are probably pretty hacky, but whatever...).
Added support for different army sets to generate different size armies.
Rebalanced Vampire Count, Wood Elf, Beastmen, Chaos Dwarf, Tomb King, Bretonnian armies using the above new technical features.
Added a new Colonies encounter to Cataph's Souther Realms support, replacing three sides of the die for Estalian encounters. Rebalanced the Tilean, Estalian,a nd Border Prince encounters using the above new technical features.
Rebalanced the encounter for Cataph's Sea Patrol using the above new technical features.
Fixed a bug where a Chaos Dwarf encounter might generate an army that wouldn't attack the player.

The mod description says it modifies the spawn rates of points of interest at sea, which means it's almost certainly modifying the same script, so not compatible

Rebalanced Dark Elves, Norsca, Ogres, Skaven, Greenskin (now just goblins), High Elves, Empire, Cathay, Warriors of Chaos, Dwarfs, Khorne, Kislev, Lizardmen, Nurgle, Slaanesh, and Tzeentch encounters.

Update: rebalanced the three extra Vampire Coast encounters to match vanilla balancing. Less exciting, yes, but also more reasonable.

Will do Norsca soon. May also create a system to have random generals, right now each faction is only ever led by one lord type. Feedback on difficulty of Vampire Coast encounters is welcome.

I don't even have the game installed after all the crap CA's pulled with this game: there are other games I'd rather spend my time, money and effort on.

If anyone wants to update the mod, feel free. If I ever bother coming back to the game, I'll probably update it myself, as I think the game's vanilla encounters are pretty lacking.

By looking at the code in the script it should work fine with the latest version of the game. Haven't tried it myself though.

I'm hoping after CA's latest update that it might pique some interest in returning. This is a great mod as there are very few mods that allow the player to engage in more "neutral" encounters and this is a great way to fight other races without having to be dragged into wars.

Same thing as the last guy, certain custom lords cause crashes, some of the time. It's weird. Like I can restart the game and do the exact same thing and it crashes. Do something different and it doesnt crash.

Very fun mod, and it seems to significantly reduce chances of pulling the broken one(s) and crashing by adding so much options. Unfortunately it kinda screws up diplomacy because you gain positive rep from any faction with line of sight over your battles. I now have +50 positive rep with Nagash (lots of faction mods here) for fighting "greenskins" and "dark elves". I don't suppose you can do something about it?

Crashing upon trying to search a shipwreck as Tyrion. I am also using SFO and Sea Patrol, but I guess this is what is causing it. Have searched shipwrecks before, but this one in particular causes a crash.

I'm 90% sure that this update broke something as after selecting the bigger reward/fight battle option on some encounters in an around Cathay I was simply getting nothing: no battle, no loot, no (critical) error. I'll do further testing.

On the flip side, it seems to have fixed a crash that occurred when AI was picking up treasures.

Update: Tweaked script to match Hotfix 4.03's script version. Only tested that the game loads. Let me know if it's still broken.

Mod Manager error:

"Outdated overwriting packs!
These packs overwrite CA data and should not be used when outdated:

Mod manager error, unfortunately causing issues in-game. I think 4.0.3 hotfixed and hot-broke some things lol.

How are you supposed to defeat some of the armies that get spawned in early game? 2 necrofex colossus 1 terrorgheist 3 deck gunners 1 syren and gunnery crab and mournghul.
