Campaign Weather Overhaul (includes The Old World Map)

Would it be possible to have the weather change in areas corrupted by certain factions or not corrupted? For example, if you eradicate the vampires from Sylvania, it loses the bats, gloom and rain to become normal like the rest of the Empire or the opposite if Vampires conquer parts of the empire that the gloomy skies and bats spread?

@John Matrix Only seen it on Cathay, mate. On stating town for Miao Ying

@TheOpiumMan Hey there, need to take a look but I'm not quite sure it will be possibile

@Sfero green tint is only limited to the Warpstone Desert, which is lorewise a toxic radioactive wasteland. Are you seeing green elsewhere?
Sfero 10 Oct @ 4:33pm
Cathay is glitched. The maps light is soooo green
TheOpiumMan 8 Oct @ 3:52am
Hey John Matrix, do you think it would be possible to combine your mod with this amazing new creation by Chaos Robbie?

So, from just the latest comments I assume it's confirmed that this works fine with IEE? Also SFO?
Wargear 28 Sep @ 2:19pm
Matrix, Your rock! much appriciated
NoRespect 28 Sep @ 1:00pm
everything cool now. thx for the quick fix
John Matrix  [author] 28 Sep @ 12:52pm
Ok, all clear. My bad! I had completely fumbled my last quick update to upgrade the vanilla IE map as well in addition to IEE (which i had initially forgotten). OOPS! That's what a typo does.
It's fixed now! Re-sub to the mod if it's not working (aka you're still getting bonkers lighting and crazy colors).
John Matrix  [author] 28 Sep @ 11:48am
@NoRespect Hey there, mind being more specific? That kind of problems? Mind providing a screenshot?

@Wargear where? Do you have a screenshot?
Wargear 28 Sep @ 10:56am
getting a nice red backdrop...

Hey mate 1st of all - wonderful mod! I got big problems with Cathay region. Especially somewhere near Gelt territory

This is a banger update :chuchelwow:

How would this mod work with those mods that remove or reduce fog on campaign map?
Stephince 23 Sep @ 10:56am
I've just found this mod. Blimey. What a difference!
John Matrix  [author] 20 Sep @ 8:16am
@Dave never tried that mod, but i'm gonna go ahead and say that they are not compatible at all.
@Zushaa.jpeg see above!

@Stratofortress No it wasn't! It was quite a late thing i added to the mod because a bunch of people asked. If you check the Notes page you'll see its quite recent.

@UnrealProphet I have 0 fps issue and i have not seen anybody report significant fps drops. Are you sure it's this mod? In which areas does your fps drop?
Zushaa.jpeg 20 Sep @ 7:54am
Is this mod compatible with Campaign Colour Correction?

I see it working in RoC now which is awesome...was this always the case? am I mistaken?
UnrealProphet 15 Sep @ 8:36am
This is beautiful, but mode tanks frame rates. Is there a lite version or a way to limit the amount of rain?

The intermittent rain is Empire is a great idea, and I hope you apply that same precedent everywhere. It's much more dynamic and immersive when you can see the weather fluctuating.
Rustic Clover 31 Aug @ 10:04am
This and the battle weather overhaul are always must-have mods even when I'm playing vanilla, because without them the base game's atmosphere feels nothing like Warhammer Fantasy (i.e. a dark fantasy world)
John Matrix  [author] 31 Aug @ 3:40am
Another quick update with some tweaks here and there.
- trying out intermittent rain in the Empire. Both the area of the Great Forest and the area between Reikland and Marienburg will have heavy rain that comes and goes.
- Made Athel Loren a bit brighter
- The Shadowlands in the far north of the Steppes are darker too.
- Souther Khosun has a cooler feel and is now rainless.
- The Gunpower Road in Cathay (Nan Gau area) has a cooler feel now and better blends with the Steppes beyond the Bastion. Weijin is instead still bright, sunny and magical
- Completely changed the Forests of the Moon in Cathay. Grew tired of the nightly feel i tried giving it as it wasn't really how intended it to be and didnt blend with the rest. It is now daytime and sunny, but it has a cooler, more misty and mountainous feel compared to the rest of Cathay, and has a very peaceful and mystical vibe. It still has magical blue embers as well as tranquil pink (cherry blossom) leaves falling and floating in the wind.

It looks so good :heart_eyes_yeti:

IEE UPDATE
With the recent amazing update to the IEE map, I’ve gone back and modified, remade from scratch or retweaked a lot of those areas to better fit with the now fantastic, upgraded visuals as well as the additional land added. Big thanks to all their contributors who are maping this map so good! Here’s a list of changes:

IND
The Mountains of Heaven are now frigids peaks under snowfall. The northern peaks are darker and with heavier snow, central and southern peaks are brighter and with milder snowfall.
In Ind proper, the western desert is bright and sunny, the southern jungles are steaming and lush with bugs flying around. The main river delta is now under intermittent heavy rainfall and has a mistier feel.
The Eastern Isles are now bright and sunny except for the more distant Tor Elasor, still under some light rain.

KHOSUN
The south is lush and brighter though under some light rainfall. The north has a colder feel and is under more intense rain.
John Matrix  [author] 30 Aug @ 3:14am
EASTERN STEPPES
This whole area I remade entirely from scratch, rebuilding the environment mosaic and adding lots of new areas.
The areas north of the Mountains of Mourn have a cold feel and are under mild snowfall. To the north, the area where Rasputia lies is again under mild snowfall. The Red Wastes are distinctly...red. The vast central plains are windy and dry, but heavy intermittent rains appear in the steppes farther north and east. The distant north-east is under heavy snowfall, but the further northern reaches, where lie the Shadowlands and neighboring areas, there is a strong magical and chaotic feel.

NORTHERN NAGGAROTH
The new areas added in the far reaches north (and including) of the Ironfrost Glacier are under a heavy blizzard with more limited visibility.
John Matrix  [author] 30 Aug @ 3:13am
LUMBRIA
Fabled Lumbria lies hidden shrouded in mist.

SOME OTHER TWEAKS
Made the Southland jungles sunnier but also more humid and steamier.
Outside of the very rain central jungles, Lustria is slightly brighter, especially the Culchan Plains.
Southern Nippon is distinctly sunnier than the central and especially northern areas that are darker and under rainfall.
Tilea is also sunnier.
The Iron Mountains in Naggaroth have a colder feel and better blend with the northern tundras.
The Lost Isles of Elithis are now still shrouded in mist, but are now even more of a tropical lush and sunny paradise.
Dumbledood 27 Aug @ 11:15pm
TLDR: Not yet.

I deleted my "The Creative Assembly" Folder after un-subbing from all mods, restarted, and verified files, then re-subbed to ones I wanted. Re-installed AMD adrenaline (drivers were already up to date). Installed some hardware monitoring software to see if I could see something going on during a benchmark test. Double-checked bios was up to date. All good things to do if you're having issues, but didn't fix it.

I think it's some kind of mod conflict. Have five or six that I'm suspicious of. But with my AMD GPU, I think I'll just wait a bit until the next patch is playable to start another campaign and figure it out. It wasn't a crash on a specific turn or action, just various moments on the campaign map, so hard to recreate without just playing the game.
Monster Tamer Bloba 27 Aug @ 5:59pm
@dumbledood Did you ever find out what was making you crash?
JonnycXD 27 Aug @ 3:53am
Should be fine, must be something else
Dumbledood 26 Aug @ 11:44pm
Does this mod make the game a bit more taxing on hardware than otherwise? Dropped high res UI, but still getting some crashes now and then. Wondering if its a bit much for my 16 gb of ram.
JonnycXD 25 Aug @ 1:15am
Deffo don’t be using high resolution ui, it causes all sorts of problems rn
Dumbledood 24 Aug @ 3:46pm
@Orkin I wonder if that's what's causing my crashes. I love the way this mod makes the game look, makes it more playable to me. But I've been getting a few crashes.I had just assumed that it was turning the game into too much of a resource hog. My GPU is still pretty new (7900xt), but only 16 GB of ram, and an 8700K on a 1440P monitor. I did have High Resolution UI Improvements enabled, so I'll try disabling that and see if it helps. That mod hasn't had an update in a while and has a few minor issues.
Orkin 23 Aug @ 8:25am
Great mod. Using both High Resolution UI Improvements and this mod makes the campaign map stutter even on GeforceNOW Ultimate machine, so I turned High Resolution UI Improvements off. It works flawlessly.
JonnycXD 13 Aug @ 1:31am
I love this mod but the sharp change near Nan-Gau is a bit jarring, the warpstone desert is very cold but then boom it's super bright instantly nearer Nan-Gau. Thanks for an amazing mod
Abhartach 5 Aug @ 12:10pm
Thank you for adding RoC support. It's a small change and the weather isn't perfect (for example, Boris's starting province has snow despite being considered the same wasteland as the adjacent Darklands), but it's still a massive improvement overall.
Louie04k 3 Aug @ 11:10am
@John Matrix it adds seasonal effects the the game. is it possible to change your weather effects to turns? for example turn 1-4 in reikland its raining, then turn 5-9 its sunny?
John Matrix  [author] 2 Aug @ 2:33am
@Louie04k Hey there, interesting suggestion! However, i don't use that mod so i'm not really sure what it does specifically. Also i wouldn't really know if its even technically possibile, but if it is i think it's beyond my current capabilities :)
Louie04k 31 Jul @ 5:04pm
i doubt its possible but your weather mod working with the seasons mod would be incredible https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3244980225 snowing effect in the winter, rain/sunny in spring, sunny in summer and raining in the fall, would be so good
John Matrix  [author] 31 Jul @ 10:00am
@Ty of Troy No worries! It's a common mistake, if the load order isn't correct my mod simply doesn't work with those new maps!
Ty of Troy 30 Jul @ 11:19pm
@john matrix my mistake, it has been a while since I was on WH3 and did not realize the description may have been updated
John Matrix  [author] 30 Jul @ 1:18pm
@Ty of Troy I've been using both for years at this point, IEE also has custom weather for the new areas. Check the first sentence of the mod description, pretty sure that's your issue! :)
Ty of Troy 29 Jul @ 9:25pm
I have tested this and it seems to not work with Expanded Immortal Empires enabled and I only have these two mods along with Mixue active
John Matrix  [author] 25 Jul @ 6:12am
@DeadRanger Ahh thats it! I vaguely remembered it was something VFX related. Glad you found it and thanks for the kind words!
DeadRanger 24 Jul @ 6:57pm
HA! So you going through the entire comment section gave me the idea of using the CRTL + F feature and search for sideways. page 6-7 found it! its the permanent VFX mod that was causing the sideways rain. honestly a small loss. this mod blows that mod away in comparison!

thanks for the work and for trying!
John Matrix  [author] 23 Jul @ 4:29pm
@DeadRanger I tried scrolling through the 70+ pages of comments but gave up. I did have a random memory flashback to the random culprit. Are you utilizing some mod that affects Guns, smoke and similar effects? Maybe i might remember, and it was a similar mod.
John Matrix  [author] 23 Jul @ 4:28pm
Realms of Chaos Update:
Mod is now fully compatible with the Realms of Chaos map. Due do this map objectively seeing very little play, i did not spend too much time with it, and mostly reutilized the vanilla environment grid CA made instead of redoing my own custom one from scratch. However, it generally looks just fine and does the job well enough. It's just a bit less detailed (one single Empire environment, one single Kislev environment ecc). I did create some new environments where things were just too glaringly misplaced for my taste, so i did tweak it a little.
So for the RoC enjoyers, enjoy!
