Cracked it. Change Galaxy SHAPE to Elliptical, this will let you change Galaxy SIZE to Great Nothing.

I also have not gotten the galaxy shape to appear, on any size, with or without other mods. Curious to see development!

I have not been able to get this to work. First tried with a pretty heavy mod-list and then completely standalone. Neither one showed a new galaxy shape and loading up starts you at a random location in the galaxy like normal. Cool concept if it works though.
