I have noticed a weird issue with the ammo explosions, sometimes shooting the hull ammo sets off the hull ammo, as you would expect, however it often sets off the turret ammo, in my tests it seemed random which went off

By the way, I'm absolutely fine with this being up, since he's done so much work to make it into a functional Leopard 2.

Modern heat and hefs or he projectiles are also really hard to explode by just flames or heat, which makes a catastrophical explosion that i explained unlikely. Also hesh rounds arent used anymore and apfsds is a "wuchtgeschoss" impact/speed projectile, where only the charge could cook off (as i said dm73 has an inert charge which cant). Tuss blowout pannels are really useful in most cases. Ty for listening to my ted talk and i hope i could help.

Just as an extra: There are multiple ways ammo can explode, and an ammo storage with blowout pannels can not protect you from some of them. As example, An ammo Explosion, can still catastrophicly destroy the tank by overpressuring or even completely destroying the Crew compardment. But this is unlikely in most cases, becouse if hit, the ammo flames out (really hot flamejet and then cooks off) which the blowout pannel will protect you from.

The T90m Proryv-3 is not completely secure from a catastrophical Ammo explosion, becouse it still has the carousel autoloader, like older t90 models ofd t80bvm, t72b3m and more. The only difference is that EXTRA ammo, is stored not in the hull and crew compardment, but in a extra space in the back of the turret, secured by a blowout pannel. This makes the tank much more unlikely to catastrophicly explode like t72 for example, which still has extra ammo in the crew compardment. T90m has also extra spall protection and more amor on the autoloader carousel and crew compardment, which makes a explosion if not hit directly, highly unlikely.

Is stored in it, it will explode and lift the turret out of the hull, which we saw in Syria. On the Leopard 2a4. Leopard 2a7v and 2a6+m im the bundeswehr is using DM73 and some modern DM heat, which has an inert (i think its called like that in english) charge, that will not explode if hit. This is only for the Bundeswehr as far as i know and Ukraine only got Dm43?and 53? Which will still explode when hit. So yes, technicly the Leopard will let the turret fly into space like russian tanks, if used with older ammo.

@fluffysergal The Leopard 2a7v has 2 different Ammo Storages, one in the Turret back for direct acces (This is the main one with blowoutpannels) and a secondary Ammo rack left near the driver in the hull, this one is NOT protected by an ammorack and if DM53(APFSDS)or DM22 (HEAT)

"not realistic tank turret should fly higher" lol its not a soviet tank(T-90 is a exception), ammo is stored in a sealed compartment by the driver with blowout panels to make sure the ammo cooking off does as little damage as possible and increase crew survival. Abrams, leopard 2s, Challenger 2 and T-90 have blowout panels.
