To be honest, I probably wrote it at a time of frustration, because frankly the way you've got the ramp setup is rather ingenious and a unique way of approaching the problem. A problem I don't have an alternative solution for. So I'd like to modify my previous comment and say that I'm appreciative of the work you've put into this creation! If anything, my original comment should've been about the reliability of the ramp, not the ramp being "atrocious". My apologies for the word choice, I could not have done any better had I tried to make my own ramp.
Nonetheless, thank you for the tweaks you've made! I believe today's the first time I've successfully deployed and retracted the ramp. Whatever tweaks they were, it made a difference for me at least!
Unsubscribe and resubscribe to make sure it updates.
It's designed the way it is because I can't fit a ramp on the outside of the sub, so it has to come from inside. Coming from inside means it has to pass through a door, which means it cannot be physically attached to the submarine (since permanently fixed tracks can't go through a door without breaking the seal of the door).
The silver lining tho is that because it's not physically attached, it can do all sorts of gymnastics by attaching at different points, and it can deploy out of either side of the sub.
Removing it is an option, however you won't be able to deploy the helicopter since it requires the ramp to get outside. It would also make it very difficult to load cargo and vehicles into the sub with a crane or something because of how low in the water the cargo door is (blame Disney for the placement of that one)
I'm open to suggestions if you got a better idea.
- It does reverse, it just does so *really* slowly. The design is very unstable if it goes backwards any faster.
- I tested the winches and couldn't find any problem. Make sure you are following the instructions as laid out in the guide: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2992524919/3806152724343211176/
However I have instead added a manual release valve connected to the compressed air tanks (located in the middle of the sub, between the side guns on the bottom deck). Opening this valve will flood the interior of the sub with air and make up for any lost via the bilge pumps (just don't forget to close it again!)
