This does not really save any time here :(. It's 54s vs 56s, and those 2s are Steam checks before it launches the game. Given that one can simply Alt+F4 the game, this basically saves that and a keypress.

I am glad you all enjoy it. I haven't been modding Rimworld lately but I'll absolutely be tipping Taranchuk in the future to keep this mod updated as needed. If the vanilla reload mods function isn't changed in the next major Rimworld version I can probably re-compile it myself then.

I have to say, I didn't read the mod spec carefully, so I assumed it was reloading the mod when the game restarted, so like a fool I cleared my game progress and waited another hour for the game to start:lunar2019laughingpig:lol

That's a fair point and was actually the original planned name for the mod, but I opted to name it what it is primarily used for. There isn't any other reason to restart the game that I can think of

Oh ok so it's a shortcut to restart the game, understood. I thought it would just load/unload the changed mods, which would be very difficult to do.

This mod calls the same vanilla function "Restart" that is called by the game when you select Yes to restarting after updating your mod list in game, so it should be fine. I've included the source in the mod so feel free to take a look at the code.

Loaded assemblies can't be removed from the AppDomain, so this will get very buggy when trying to deactivate mods and reload.
