I was looking for a mod like this but then found out it's outdated, makes me sad. The vanilla Exemplar looks pretty stupid. +1

Currently the mod does not work anymore. The eagle rider still has his default appearance, even with the mod. Would love to use it again. Thanks so much for the mod!

This is definitely an improvement. The Eagle Rider is so thematically weird. It looks like it should be some fast-moving harrier unit, not a glorious morale-improving frontline tank. I feel like it was supposed to be a GRIFFON rider, and the devs didn't manage to create a griffon in time.

Really like this one, and already subscribed to the glade runner which is fantastic as well.

Maybe take a run at the Berserker? I avoid barbarian because of how much I dislike the look of that unit, and about to start modding myself just to change it. To me he looks like he's wearing a diaper and not an intimidating fighter.

I tried making a mod to change the visuals of the Eagle Rider, actually I tried to make it into a shield infantry unit using armors from different High Culture units. It doesn't work, instead it just likes like a Defender. No idea what I did wrong. I've changed visuals for cultural units no problem so I'm assuming the process is different with tome units. Any ideas what I did wrong? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

They are most definitely not ranged, they count as shieldwall defenders in the game. Nothing about this mod changes that, it's purely cosmetic.
