Thanks for all the comments for far, some recommended adjustments for when a team plays a low block:

Both Wing-backs - Cross more often.
Your more creative Mezzala - Take more risks (Can do both if you're still struggling for that goal)

Have also had some luck switching the AF -> PF(A). But this will only work with a suitable player.

This tactic is incredible. I took over a midtable team and we won our first season. Invincible. My striker is scoring an *average* of 3 goals a match.

11/10. This is the most broken tactic I've ever used in FM, easily.

This is a great tactic so far. I've tried a number of possession based ones, but this one is the most reliable in terms of results and scoring. It still has trouble breaking down some teams, so I'd welcome some insight in tweaks for when teams sit back?
