Is it more effort than just 2 meat shots? Sure, but you know how vocal some players can about about strats that predate on light classes, no matter how convoluted. Regardless, I still would like to see the weapon in the game, and tweaking can always be done in post... as long as they don't "tweak" it like they did my beautiful Bison.
My headcanon for why this weapon would be a silly yet fitting addition to TF2 would be the Scout trying to build his own pistol with stuff he has lying around, doing a terrible job at it and showing it off to the Engineer—in a mechanic sense since both use pistols—super proud of his terrible weapon and the Engie would find it cute and end up fixing it so it could actually work.
Not sure how I feel about the other proposed stats, but you also wouldn't want to add too many crazy stats—like "infinite ammo" like the laser weapons, cooldown meters, number of shots needed to inflict burn being reduced by distance, no reload necessary if standing next to a dispenser, etc—to a secondary weapon.
if this gets added on the game people would never touch the stock pistol again
Also it's a terrible ideia to add afterburn to a hitscan weapon like the pistol, it would be a nightmare to play against it as a sniper
pyro flares you have the chance to get away of the projectile, you can't really do it with hitscan, so fighting a engi or a scout using this weapon would be a constant dice roll, and a really unfun one
imo it doesn't fit the rest of the guns and the front picture, MANN CO. is the company to give the merc the cheapest possible weapons they can after all
The only issue I see with the Hair Trigger is the synergy with the Sun on a Stick, having Scout be able to ignite the enemies himself would be scary, but considering meatshots do more damage than a Sun on a Stick crit anyways, I feel like it's a fun alternative to the typical Scout at best. (which is a good thing!)
Oh, and as for Engineer, I suppose it would make it easier to track Spies, if you, y'know, can't aim your shotgun or whatever.
Overall, fun weapon! Would love to see it in the game.
