I don't plan on updating SGO (that includes addons and dark mode) for the latest patch or future ones. I simply don't play the game anymore and the new update doesn't interest me.
Thank you very much for the response and keep up the great work
I just tested this mod along with the optional non-papermap addon and I don't experience the issues you are describing. Are you only using SGO and the non-papermap addon when this happens?
The primary mod (the mod on this page) should work with the latest version, the papermap addons haven't been updated for the latest version of the game but in my tests they still seem to run (with some issues, not ones you mentioned though).
Fronts may be difficult to see on the non-papermap addons since they weren't really designed to be viewed from high zoom levels without the papermap. I used to ship shader files to address this but they were cumbersome for me to keep up-to-date.
I would like to know if the mod works with the current version of the game, because I tested playing your mod + Non-papermap and the units and fronts do not appear on the map.
(I apologize for any mistakes in English, I'm using Google Translate)
I've pushed forward another update also! I'm including a new normal map texture with this update that should make water look different. I used Blender to make this texture which I'm not experienced with, so please let me know if there are issues with this new texture or if anyone has suggestions to improve it!
(https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html) as a reference to find something between realistic and to my taste aesthetically.
I still need to work on the custom ocean diffuse texture some more so while I'm doing that I'll also tweak the water settings.
Note that I have restored clouds and fog of war for this update. They are a bit more subtle than vanilla and are thus less distracting. If these effects are undesired you can download this mod: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3051171083
I recommend unsubscribing and resubscribing as I'm not sure if Steam will properly update the mod.
Finaly the game is playable!
You may have to unsubscribe and subscribe for this update to download correctly since I noticed that it didn't start downloading automatically until I did that.
I haven't been working on the mod for a while now but one thing I want to do is tweak the changes I did to some post processing and water graphics since I agree that it looks a bit 'faded out' at the moment.
This latest update makes the download a lot larger. This is because I've migrated a lot of the 3D map (and other) changes from the non-paper addons to the main mods. So the 3D map of the main mods now resemble the addons while also retaining the paper map.
Note that I have not tested this with the new DLCs, as I don't own them (hesitant to buy them). But I'm guessing that they should technically work, however I don't know how the map looks with them enabled.
I'll start to work on a 'dark mode' version of the mod that is overall less bright and with darker oceans, that affects both the paper map and the regular map. I'll update this mod page with a link to it when it's up!
