We can test this with a new game. If upgrades drop from loot in a new game, then yes, the issue is with loading the mod into a save.

In my local SP and MP game, upgraded drones were appearing in my inventory. I asked the developers what the issue might be.

When mod drops , it does not go to the inventory.

@ Predzio, it works when added mid-save. No idea about co-op.

Random loot of this equipment doesn't appear in the inventory.

As in, I pick up an item that claims it is bioscanner/geoscanner equipment, but nothing appears in my inventory.

Crafting does work, however, though obviously without any random stat boosts found on loot.

I installed "Short tabs in research menu" and the research tab for Scanner Drones is still missing. Never had this problem with this mod pre-2.0.

if i find a scanner from loot it says that i get the unique item but it doesn't exist in my inventory.

You need a third mod, called "Short tabs in research menu“
Otherwise, the research Tab is hidden behind the original tabs

I have taken out the movement speed for myself....
As requested by others, it would be nice, if you could do it for everyone.

Nice, like it, almost perfect.
The only thing i hate about it, the mods gives movement speed, i dont like it because the movement with high movement speed in the game is weird, annoying.

The mod contains file "scanner_drones_localizations.csv", this file contains line localizations. Usually people send me a new version of the file, which adds localizations in new language. And I add them to the mod and publish it.

So I entered a new biome and it is in fact scanning, but it's not generating familiarity as fast as when I do it manually. Guess I got spoiled by a couple other mods. Still, the detector/defuser for those stupid mushrooms more than makes up for the loss in familiarity by itself.

The bioscanner drones are certainly scanning, but I'm wondering if they're actually generating points... I'll see increased familiarity on hostile creatures, but I haven't seen any on plants since equipping one.

Geoscanner drone speed increase.
Adding lock type to geoscanner drone.
Now each geoscanner drone locks the mushroom and the other drone will not select that mushroom.
Adding instant mushrooms destruction feature.

Is there any way to spawn one Bioscanner Equipment via the console, or start the game with one in some other way?
It would be such a huge QoLife upgrade, without having to look for those tall monsters to scan for the research drone unlock.

This mod is by far the best one to do what it does, however, I would like a way to increase how much each scan for the drones counts for. I have the size matters mod for the bioscanner and it doesnt make sense for the drone to only count for 1 when the bioscanner does so much more. I am trying to figure out the code behind it but cannot figure out how to get it to increase the amount per scan

Drones scan faster when the quality increases. It works the same way as when increasing the quality of scanning turrets. In short, both the drone and the turret have a maximum scan time. When the scanning time of an object reaches the maximum time, the object is considered scanned. As the quality increases, the maximum scanning time decreases. Scanner drones also have an increased scanning radius.

is there difference in effectiveness in scanning abilities based on tier or only the passive bonuses listed? Like do they scan faster and more accurate? Dont see any difference
