Interesting, but I don't usually test effects in debug console ( I have a mod I use for scratch testing ), good to know since i sometimes write quick little run blocks for people though.

@kalanyr

Have you seen this?
Seems like they remade how code works in console.
Maybe relevant when you test with debug mode on.
I would have taken this in github, but last update there was 2024.

Also doesn't appear to be a similar modifier for spouses ( pretty confident there isn't since they actually did setup the Concubine slot on the GUI to expand but not the secondary spouse one )
kalanyr  [author] 28 Oct @ 1:49pm
Some good news for me in terms of effort and some bad news in terms of versatility: Looks like the concubine by rank modifier only exists for traditions ( not faiths ) and will like other concubine tradition parameters implicitly set spouses to 1 unless set as part of the same tradition. I will test just to be sure though. Also will have to check if the theoretical possibility barons / counts might only have 1 concubine or something has caused them to fix the prestige penalty always assuming that there's 3 slots available.
kalanyr  [author] 28 Oct @ 12:13pm
There are Traditions that seem to specify Spouse Number so I'm going to have to recheck how that works, as well as adjust for the tier based allowances. It doesn't look like the GUI is designed to allow mixed Spouses/ Concubines but at least it supports more than 3 concubines ( maybe Secondary Spouses too ? ), probably going to require a reasonable rework of the GUI.
kalanyr  [author] 25 Oct @ 11:03am
Actually, they might effect this mod a bit , in that it might mean hopefully they adjust the GUI to allow for arbitrary Spouse / Concubines which would let me get rid of a lot of GUI code.
kalanyr  [author] 25 Oct @ 11:02am
Yeah, I saw that, won't effect this mod much unless there's a similar function for religions, the way Traditions work for these settings is weird ( by necessity ), they completely overwrite the faith settings, so a concubine = 3 tradition sets spouses to 1 implicitly. I only included a single example Tradition and 1 ( currently hidden ) Tradition that serves to suppress a warning.
Cavve 25 Oct @ 10:16am
From upcoming release of AUH. The changelog for modding gives us this. "Added ‘number_of_consorts_(tiername)’ for traditions to be able to specify number of possible consorts by tier, instead of only generally"

For everyone having problems with characters’ window, more specifically vassals tab overlaying other tabs due to devs changing it to tributaries tab in “Khans of the Steppe”. Problem is in window_character.gui file in the path: Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2960455942\gui

To solve this, you can take same .gui file from CK3 game folder, but you won’t be able to expand secondary spouses and see concubines in character window, OR download it from here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/12HeycwTmSzBVbnHa3h8BXbcLwJrsNxfr/view?usp=sharing
Unarchive and paste it in gui folder of the mod, just delete whatever was in that folder before this, so it won't conflict.

I took this .gui file from mod “Harem – More Concubines (and spouses)”. If you don't trust me, you can download that mod and take .gui file from there.

update?
PBMKZXY 8 Jul @ 5:56am
@thattakeover You could try "Gender Law Expanded"
Tebix 22 Jun @ 10:10am
Thanks, can't wait for the update, considering it currently Fs up the GUI and I see this mod as a must have.
kalanyr  [author] 17 Jun @ 1:31am
Would have to be a separate mod or a more comprehensive one, as things stand Realm laws govern the gender for Concubinage / Polygamy, Faith / Culture only governs if they are enable and this mod doesn't mess with Realm law at the moment.
thattakeover 17 Jun @ 1:04am
Im rying to find a mod that will let me set my religion to equal, have concubines, but only for men. want it under the marriage type instead of realm laws.(like the harem laws mod) As i wont be able to control all rulers who have my religion. idk if you can add this in
Belgrifex 14 Jun @ 8:03pm
Happy to hear! You Rock : )
kalanyr  [author] 14 Jun @ 5:18am
Yeah, there's definitely an update coming, apologies on the wait. An AGOT compatch is almost certainly more work than I want to take on in terms of maintenance so probably not, if someone wants to create / maintain one feel free to reach out and I'll provide what help I can though.
Tebix 14 Jun @ 4:53am
Is there any chance for an update, or and AGOT compatch?
Yeah, wait for update!
Swordsman Chinchilla 15 May @ 3:40pm
Same as Belfrigex I was searching around my 10 pages list of mods for what could be the reason for my problem and never expected that it would be this one. It was always solid for me, take your time GOAT
BiggestVhagarFan 8 May @ 3:53pm
Yeah hopefully this one is fixed soon, great mod aside from the weird bug.
Belgrifex 4 May @ 6:54pm
I was surprised lol, I went through my whole mod list and never expected this to be this one doing it. Keep up the good work though!
kalanyr  [author] 4 May @ 2:43am
I definitely wouldn't have expected it to work given the introduction of Tributaries but I also certainly didn't expect it to break like that, I'm working on Spouse Designer first but I think this is next after that ( and probably the trivial sub mods of Spouse Designer ) ).
Belgrifex 3 May @ 10:23pm
Currently breaks the family and vassal menu by forcing them both open at once.
kalanyr  [author] 12 Apr @ 3:35pm
Tenets are loaded as a block , so you can only ever have one complete set of tenets active at a time, there's no way to add individual tenets or overriding a specific tenet, it's all or nothing ( which is very annoying but that's how Paradox did it).

This mod changes the Rite tenet so that it works correctly with this mod (otherwise the Polygamy vs Monogamy Rite restriction wouldn't work )
Palaverous 12 Apr @ 2:56pm
One question if you don't mind: Why does this mod include a version of doctrine_core_tenets = {} (The kemd00_core_tenets file)? I'm trying to add a custom tenet of my own to my game, which as far as I know requires messing with that block, but I'm not sure what your version does. As far as I know, you're editing doctrines, not tenets.
kalanyr  [author] 12 Mar @ 1:40pm
There'll be a bit of a delay to me updating my mods for 1.15 , I thought the maintenance patch would come with the Steppe not the Clothing pack. I have no time this week and probably not next week (?) but I might be able to push some of my other projects that are in a more stable state than CK3 stuff back a bit to fix this mess if things turn out well.
Ed 12 Mar @ 7:56am
the mod needs updating, love the mod though!
Mad Az 2 Mar @ 8:37am
Well the mod works for AGOT but it heavily impact the Dragons mechanic for some strange reason
kalanyr  [author] 27 Feb @ 3:26pm
Then it's a different mod that also overwrites the opinion modifier assignment to use a check that's incompatible with this mod.
Francis 27 Feb @ 3:14pm
I don't have Rajas of Asia though?
kalanyr  [author] 27 Feb @ 3:06pm
Mod incompatibility probably Rajas of Asia.
Francis 27 Feb @ 10:48am
I keep getting a -15 opinion penalty from my spouse because I'm "Blaspheming our Marriage", but I have concubines selected, and Male adultery is accepted. What's going on?
skibum019 14 Feb @ 11:43am
Yeah I had kind of expected that to be the answer.
kalanyr  [author] 14 Feb @ 11:39am
@skibum019

I would not expect it to, since AGOT alters some of the marriage functions to allow for the Blood of the Dragons exception to the normal marriage tenets.
skibum019 13 Feb @ 6:56pm
Does this work with AGOT?
kalanyr  [author] 5 Feb @ 4:16pm
Nothing, the game mechanics only let any given character have a single betrothal at a time (think of it as each character only having 1 "slot" for a betrothed )
Momino 5 Feb @ 3:50pm
So I have polygamous doctrine, can marry to as many spouses as I need, but apparently can't betrothal more than a one child. What might be the problem here?
kalanyr  [author] 23 Jan @ 9:47am
*hmmmm* It'd be possible within the context of this mod (add appropriate concubinage doctrine to all polygamous faiths at game start), it wouldn't really be possible while trying to stay close to base game though, the spouse / concubine limit are set as doctrine_parameters and those can't be changed dynamically in game.
sokotofalcon 23 Jan @ 9:38am
all right, thank you

coming back to what @Sneax said awhile ago, isn't there the possibility to make a game rule that automatically gives a certain number of concubines to all faiths that already have the polygamy doctrine. It would be very historically accurate since pretty much all faiths that historically sanctioned polygamy also allowed male slave owners to have intercourse with their female slaves, i.e concubinage.
kalanyr  [author] 23 Jan @ 9:00am
@sokotofalcon
You have a mod conflict.
sokotofalcon 23 Jan @ 8:51am
the concubine doctrines do not allow for the interaction offer concubine and offer truce concubine and there is also a -1000 modifier for arranging marriage with any landed ruler once you have any of the new doctrines.
jmjurassic07 8 Dec, 2024 @ 9:11pm
There were only a few blasphemous union negative opinion penalties when I was the Faith's original founder but after I became the heir the negative opinion just sky rocketed.
kalanyr  [author] 7 Dec, 2024 @ 9:37pm
@jmjurassic07
You can a conflicting mod that restores the old opinion modifier check, probably Raja's of Asia (I think every report so far has been that mod). I have it down to make a comp patch for that when I have the time.
jmjurassic07 7 Dec, 2024 @ 4:47pm
I'm getting negative opinion due to blasphemous union even though we are of the same faith.
kalanyr  [author] 16 Nov, 2024 @ 6:27am
You have a mod conflict then, that's either restoring the old marriage checks or the old marriage doctrines (or something very similar to them ). Raja's is a super common culprit if you're using that.
Sneax 16 Nov, 2024 @ 6:25am
@kalanyr Yes but it's always the case when i retire all marriage concubines doctrine, and add mine, i have always malus for blasphemy of the marriage
kalanyr  [author] 15 Nov, 2024 @ 4:28pm
The correct order is to remove the current marriage/concubine doctrines (if you're going to change them) then add the ones you want.
