Back when I made the mod, bots never used modded tools, from my mod or any others. Unless they changed it in the big bot update a bit ago, I'd say probably not. Though, I do believe a medic could use it since it has all the right tags (It would stop bleeding for a human, and heal a robot).

any idea if this thing works with bots? I'm playing a solo campaign with a pretty small sub and bot crew, and it would be awesome if my technician bot could wield this wonderful piece of technology lmao

No need to change mode, it just works. It does everything in just one beam, or when you try to use it on something. Assuming is still works, not checked it for a while

It was an annoying change to make but one I've been needed to do for a while. To fix, check your batteries are full, and if they are, just scrap and remake the tool

my mistake, I only recently got it so I hadn't used it on rocks. still, could you make it possible to attach a flash light if you have to otherwise stop it from making light in favor of mode switch?

I'd only do a mode switch for to let it damage hulls. It already repairs and breaks rocks at the same time.

if you do the mode switch rocks/repair thing, could you make it so you can mount a flashlight on it like you can for the harpoon gun and some other stuff? that way you'd still be able to use it for light.

Not intentional no, it shouldn't do damage if you have 100 skill in electrical and mechanical. If it does, it wont tomorrow when I fix it.
I could do a mode switch for damage rocks or damage hull, then one for repair. But it means no light. I can't make it a screw driver then a wrench, those are set tags I can't change.

Ah, thought the switching modes was possible due to stuff like making the deadeye carbine burst fire. (Some mods have done that)
I noticed it only did damage when you aim down, and it only damaged the legs. Is this intentional?

Notice the skill requirement, it's a super powerful tool, meant for end-game use, so you need the skill to use it.
And for just "switching the modes", it is not possible. As simple as that.

Thank you for liking the mod!
Firstly, regarding the errors, I'm currently looking for a way to add extra functionality and compatibility with other mods, without causing that error.
However, a mod I highly recommend, even if not using my mod(s) is:

It requires Lua however. It stops all errors from forcing open for the terminal unless it's game-breaking.


Now, for the other features, adding a fix for dislocations should be possible, I'll see about adding that now.
For the door opening part, I'm looking for a way to let it force open doors if they are broken, but open wiring or repair if not, since it's trying to pry open the door, but gets interrupted by the wire screen.
Then on the topic of wires, it is intentional that the tool is 2-handed, stopping the use of 2. However, that does stop rewiring... once again a balancing act between functionality and balance.
I'll set to tool to be one-handed.

Hey, me again! Just tried to rewire a component and noticed it's impossible due to the tool being two-handed. Don't know if that's intentional or not, just thought I'd throw that out there

Also I might not be understanding something, but when the tool is equipped it says I can use it to pry hatches open as if I have a crowbar equipped, however that doesn't seem to work

Hey, I just tried out your mod and it's honestly fantastic. I'd just like to bring two things to your attention real quick. One being that some errors pop up while using it, I'm assuming all of these are due to the fact that I don't use Robo-Trauma and it's therefor trying to find afflictions that don't exist. The other thing is a feature request if it wouldn't be too much of a hassle for you. Dislocations from Neurotrauma require a wrench to fix, hence still a need to clutter the inventory with a wrench. Would there be any chance that functionality can be added to the tool? Again, fantastic mod, it's definitely much appreciated

i was just curious cause every now and than i try to use it to repair walls instead of a welder and acidentally murder friendlies disspite not being in the same room as them XD

I've had to balance a lot of trade-offs for the tool. One of them is friendly fire. If I try to stop friendly fire, it means removing the weapon part of the tool, the welding and cutting part of the tool, and the Robo-Trauma part.
So for my playthrough, I just turn off friendly fire.

Regarding not injuring enemies through walls... I'll look into that.

You can check the last image of the steam post, or you can search for "mystery" in the fabricator terminal. It's very expensive and requires more than one craft
