Well, its okay. But then again our simulations are quite similar, in a way... And again, I am also sorry for reacting bad and criticizing your system. Overall I think both of ours are good and since both of ours are not the same, both our systems are good in different ways.
Lepperkin  [author] 11 May, 2023 @ 5:02pm
Oh, and also, Im not really one to do collabs, I wouldn't know how to do it and I'm more of an independent worker. And yeah, I'm gonna admit, I was WAY overcritical of your system. Although it really did help boost my own simulation, it wasn't fair to you at all, considering yours is actually pretty good. Sorry man.

Oh, btw, I renamed and increased the size of a dwarf planet around tuleste, might wanna check it out

Nice:steamthumbsup:
Lepperkin  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 10:42pm
I've updated the simulation. I added a bunch of bands on some of the gassy planets to increase detail. I've changed the magnetospheres, composition, size, and atmospheres of several planets and moons. I even added some asteroid moons to some outer bodies. I also changed Shayeli's vegetation to a dark purple coloration.
Lepperkin  [author] 10 May, 2023 @ 10:39pm
Suvela got a bunch of moons due to it being the most dominant planet beyond the neighborhood of the two inner stars, ending up capturing many planets that got flung from the main system or that formed in the outer regions. Earth's moon does not necessarily *have* to represent the maximum size limit of a moon. It's probably unlikely as heck, but not impossible. I simply wanted to showcase the possibility of a moon having a moon. Also, not all massive moons have atmospheres in the solar system, so I thought I'd apply that logic here too. And Mestuno is an unusually large captured moon. I don't want to put more asteroids in because that would mean hundreds of insignificant bodies to add and slow down my already slow PC.
Tallisar 10 May, 2023 @ 12:17pm
I did not mean to criticize but I still wonder how a gas dwarf could be like that. And another question, why are they in the Tuleste system? Jovians can be slightly bigger but never have I seen sub-jovians used in lower class stars. Anyways, how did Suvela get a crap ton of moons? It is a bit far out of the system but like how? And how come Mestuno is bigger than Earth and yet have a moon bigger than Luna and contain and atmoshpere? Why aren't the other moons of Suvela like that? And you can simulate asteroids also. I put so much things on my system that it tends to be a bit laggy when loading or fast paced movement. About my system, I have found it to be stable and the only thing that is unstable are those annoying ring particles. Either way I think both of our systems are great and probably we might could do a collab, if you want.

"The lower limit for mass can vary widely for different planets depending on their compositions; the dividing mass can vary from as low as one to as high as 20 MEarth." -An article about gas dwarfs/mini neptunes. Considering the majority of the ones in my system have a mostly rocky composition, with the volatiles being only a comparatively thin outer layer, It is indeed possible. If it had a mostly gaseous composition at such mass, then it would certainly have evaporated.

Also, I didn't just get it from spaceengine. Spaceengine provided inspiration, it did not have the final say. Almost everything still lines up with reality. I do appreciate the criticisms though, because it allows me to refine my system to be more likely and realistic.
Tallisar 10 May, 2023 @ 5:43am
By the way I don't think mini-Neptunes have masses of about 2-3 earths.
Tallisar 10 May, 2023 @ 5:42am
I know about Quaoar and it's rings but instead of learning from space engine, I get my knowledge from many other astrophysicists. I am also sorry for my attitude, I just did not like that fact how somethings weren't "realistic" but then again it is not like everyone has to do the same thing, right? With that being said, about my system, It is actually work in progress and have now scrapped the idea of realism. Of course, it is not like every moon of every gas giant must be habitable. I just good inspired by avatar, since it does have fictional planets for Alpha C. A and B. But thank you for letting me know!
Chickenhawk_14 9 May, 2023 @ 8:24pm
Interesting. I may need to incorporate elements like that into my own system. I'm considering taking a closer look at your system myself. You could write a good story based on the system.
Lepperkin  [author] 9 May, 2023 @ 8:02pm
Oh, and side note, ubiro and erecturu didn't get their rings from roche-limit interactions, my mistake. I haven't fully decided why they exist, but it is likely due to collisions between asteroid moonlets. Remember, dwarf planet Quaoar also has rings outside the roche limit.
Lepperkin  [author] 9 May, 2023 @ 7:56pm
Also, a lot of this was based on my experience using Spaceengine. I trusted that it was realistic, so I incorporated many observed elements from that game into my own system, such as gaseous moon Seval, the multiple moons of Kaious, and the atmospheres and rings of other moons. I did include unlikely scenarios for the sake of making it interesting, but it is not impossible.
Lepperkin  [author] 9 May, 2023 @ 7:49pm
Shayeli has green plants because it looks better. I actually accounted for this and made its plants darker than the game's default, but it simply looked nicer this way without sacrificing too much realism. Sandine isn't tidally locked due to orbital interactions with other planets. Moutazi isn't a gas giant, it's basically a super earth that accumulated large amounts of ice and hydrogen during formation. Same with Frilita. The barycenter of Derkel and Dek lies within Derkel's surface, making it as much of a binary system as the Earth and Moon are. Sadaist is a rogue planet. It's moons are small and far apart compared to Sadaist's mass, so their gravity doesn't interfere with each other enough to be significant.

And I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come at your system that way. I didn't even consider that it may just be based on your imagination.
Lepperkin  [author] 9 May, 2023 @ 7:38pm
Hey, I appreciate the feedback! Kaious's inner two satellites formed around the same time, while Boncan, previously having a now destroyed binary partner, was captured in an encounter with Kaious. The inner two have an approximately 1:4 orbital resonance, which I wasn't sure whether or not it was stable so I ran the simulation for a long time, and it appears to be so. Most of Boncan's water was frozen until terraforming by the Kalijau thawed it. Lenisto is a captured moon that had a small asteroid in close orbit, which eventually entered the roche limit, becoming a ring. Ubiro got it's rings the same way. Neranti's small magnetosphere was a mistake. Seval is a minineptune, not a gas dwarf. Those are possible. And for Aunst, did you forget that Saturn's moon Titan, a less massive and warmer moon, has an even thicker atmosphere? Mestuno is a captured planet. It formed via planetary impact, and it's atmosphere is like Titan's.
Tallisar 7 May, 2023 @ 1:44pm
This is not to show hate but just say how unrealistic and unstable system you have. Now, I am not saying mine is realistic and stable, but since your system appears to be finished, this is why I am just pointing out somethings. I am still working on mine and no, my Alpha Centauri System is not to be based on real life, but of my imagination.

PS: Although you system is, not very ReAlIsTiC and uNsTaBlE, I find it and your lore very great!
Tallisar 7 May, 2023 @ 1:43pm
Shayeli, a planet that has competitive life, how does it have green plants? Normally, plants around M class stars normally use pigments such as retinol, carotenoids, or bacteriorhodopsin. Bacteriorhodopsin is black or purple which is used to absorb all types of heat and light. Why isn't Sandine tidally locked? it has an orbital period lower than 11 days and its close enough to have liquid water. And why is Moutasi also have an extremely low mass and radius for a gas giant? Very similar to Seval. Derkel has an extremely large moon. Why isn't Derkel and Dek binary celestial bodies? Frilita, another gas *dwarf*, again why is it low in radius and mass? Why is Sadaist very far from the stars? And why does it have two spherical moons which makes its realism HIGHLY unlikely.
Tallisar 7 May, 2023 @ 1:43pm
Suvela, the biggest gas giant of the system. How does it have a gas moon? Seval, the gas moon, is impossible! How can it have a low mass and size for a gas dwarf? And how does Aunust have a thick atmosphere for a moon of its mass and size? AND HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR AN EARTH SIZED MOON(Mestuno) ORBIT A GAS GIANT A BIT BIGGER THAN JUPITER AND HAVE A SUB MOON THAT IS BIGGER THAN THE AVERAGE MOON?! Not angry but just confused on how is that "realistic"? But how does the sub moon also have an atmosphere?
Tallisar 7 May, 2023 @ 1:43pm
Lepperkin, I like your system. But like you said to mine, "it is very unstable and unrealistic". I understand you believe is this is a hard worked system but scientifically speaking, it is not realistic or stable. Now you may be asking how is it not. I know the game thinks it is unstable but I can see what you mean. Planet Kaious host three spherical moons, but that is either unlikely, or impossible. Once the first moon is formed, it normally dominates the system and can prevent other moons being formed. Boncan, the third moon of Kaious, also seems to be kinda of unrealistic. How can it contain water even though its mass is low? And how can 2 moons orbit closely with no gravitational interference? Lenisto, moon of Neranti, how is it possible for it to have rings and why does Neranti have an abysmally small magnetosphere? Another question is how did Ubiro get its rings?

I'm in the process of making a solar system right now, and it's based on a book I'm writing. Who knows, maybe my system will make it on here someday. So I congratulate you on this, and how much work you put into this. Making a system is a lot harder than it first seems, especially one with three stars and twenty one planets.

Lepperkin  [author] 29 Apr, 2023 @ 7:04pm
To clarify, yes it took 6 months overall, but it was not an everyday thing, as I don't have all the time in the world. From creation of the simulation to publishing it on the workshop, yes it was 6 months. In all, it was probably about 100 hours in total combined time spent creating it.

Also, to Syz fish, I didn't really know what to put for infrared emissivity either. I observed that mars and its weak atmosphere has very little, earth and its dense atmosphere has a lot, and venus and its very dense atmosphere is almost 100%. So, based on that, I just sorta guessed where I would put it based on how dense the atmosphere is.

Dang 6 months???

Excellent, comprehensive design—left a like. I would not have had the motivation to see it through over 6 months. I noticed your comment about infrared emissivity in the other Alpha Centauri system comments section and wondered how much more you know about it. As a fellow realistic systems creator, it bugs me that I don't quite know what value to set for that. At least for magnetic field strengths, there are scientific papers discussing how strong they could be. Not as much success (and hugely complex) when it comes to infrared emissivity.

On promoting your work, the Universe Sandbox Discord server has channels where you can share pics and links to the workshop. I'm also in there—instant messaging may be preferable if you're up for it. Nice job again.

Thanks Geo-Global, I wish i could directly reply but it sadly doesnt let me. It's less that I care for fame or popularity (although it would be nice to have a little bit lol) I just want some other scientific minds to be able to view and critique my hard work, to be able to prove to myself that I did indeed to something great. They may even point out things I did wrong! Of course, I am proud of it, and I do believe I did good. It's just that none of my friends even remotely understand anything about space, so its not like I can just show it to them instead. Thanks for the kind words though, thats some damn good advice!
NUTTER BUTTER 27 Apr, 2023 @ 7:24pm
Sorry if I couldn't get the whole message out, but I was fighting my worst ancient enemy... CHARACTER LIMITS.
NUTTER BUTTER 27 Apr, 2023 @ 7:17pm
Lepperkin, listen don't let that Steam Workshop Item get to you man; you should be proud of yourself. You spent all of this hard work on this system. Don't let something dumb, getting famous, get to you. I think it's best not to aim for popularity as I said, but to please yourself with what YOU want. Just enjoy the fact that, you can have the patience and hard work to create something like this, and I know how fucking hard it is to try to make a binary system. Just look at your work and keep going, don't let your mind trick you into thinking you only need to be popular to be happy or respected from others. End of the day enjoy what you desire and want instead of caving for respect and attention. I suggest you use this hard work wisely, and with enough time and work you could make your world out of this; honesty, that would be great. I don't mind chatting if you want, anyways I hope Christ gives you a lovely week, cheers!

Thanks Vatarius and Mouseconsumer.

Anyone else checking out my system, please give it an honest rating so it can be seen by more people.

the term underrated does not describe how underrated this actually is. good job man
