Fixed the spotting issues!!! Apologies that it was broken for so long. As always let me know if there are any more bug reports!
This update came with a few structural changes to the files and as a result several features had to be disabled temporarily while I rewrite them.
However it should come with some bugfixes at well, and fixes to my own code that should eliminate most if not all of the recent issues with game crashes.
CURRENTLY DISABLED TEMPORARILY:
- Plane altitude overhaul system (high alt / low alt bombers)
- Additional supply cost for some weapons (LGB, MLRS)
- Most custom AI parameters
- Smoke grenades no longer show on the UI for infantry unfortunately. They do still function though. Remember that all engineers, command units, and special forces have smoke grenades.
This incorporates Eugen's fix to the AI!
Merry Christmas everybody!
Apologies for the long wait for this last update! I was away on vacation. Thank you all for waiting, hope you enjoy!
Updated: 07/13/24
General Strategy:
AI has a much more aggressive strategy (for real this time)
Adjusted AI deployment behavior (more recon, heavier forward deployment)
More aggressive with command units, less likely to leave a point when attacked.
Less wasted units on far-behind lines defense missions
Adjusted attacking strategies to include more infantry, more recon, and in general more expensive units
Defensive strategies have higher amounts of ATGMs, defensive infantry, and overall cheaper units
Arty:
AI will now pool up mortars and arty for more concentrated barrages
Adjusted AI artillery targeting priorities
AI will now try to use smoke artillery on your units much more often
-AI now has proper buying rules, and has differing priorities/missions for mortars, light howitzers, heavy howitzers, and MLRS
(1/2)
Airstrikes:
Adjusted Airstrike parameters
Adjusted valid targets by plane type, airstrikes should now be more flexible in their targets (ex: bombers/at planes will now be able to target an AA units, soft skinned vehicles, logistics, artillery, etc so long as the AI has sight)
Toned down AA plane missions, should be less oppressive against helicopters
Fixes:
Should have cut down on amount of AFK AI units dramatically.
Got rid of unwanted vanilla AI behaviors that persisted through the backup strategies
General spending priority rework
Removed command units from attack pushes directly, as it was causing an issue where the command unit would flee an dthe whole attack follows
Several other behaviors that were not functioning as intended had values corrected, fixes made, etc.
As always let me know what you guys think of the changes!
(2/2)
- Returned and refined some AI modifications to the mod, let me know what you think!
- Forward Deploy distance should no longer be scaled
Also the mod should be DLC compatible now!
That should have fixed the crashing issues, let me know if you come across any more. Unfortunately I also had to temporarily disable the repair speed modifiers and the infantry transport supply.
It should be good to play now, as always let me know if you have any more issues! Unfortunately, since I do not have the DLC yet for myself, I do not think that the new DLC units will be working properly. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hi, sorry to always bring bad news :) but when starting with 101st, instant crash.
I tried with other div (not in new dlc) and i works.
Seems something wrong with the new divs.
HUGE shoutout to Eugen for hearing my request to add the scaling back into the game. They added it back, and simplified it massively. This means that all of my mods are now back and updated, apologies for the wait! Thank you all for playing, let me know if you find any new bugs or discrepancies with the gameplay, as I had to rewrite several things.
Hope you all enjoy!
Hopefully someday Eugen will add back the possibility to do the scaling properly.
For now I suppose we're stuck with save compatibility mode and the old pre-1.0 update :/
