make opiates reduce stress
We're still figuring out how to balance stress
IMO, the best way to fix what my problem is (which is mostly early game) is to look at all the resources a player has access to at first (not just from the mod itself, but I'm thinking ethanol, alien blood, other cheap medicine/chemicals etc), and then figure out ways to make them all fit to provide alternative food sources which would still be a drain on the player, but not so much that they'd feel they HAVE to get MREs instead (especially if you made them more expensive)
Also, though pretty stupid, but maybe a fun early game appliance to cook stuff with would be using the sub's reactor/engine's heat and/or welding fuel/torches (yeah I do realize this would suck, but such is life aboard a shitty submarine on an alien world)
anyways, I'm done ranting, very good shit otherwise senpai
I think this can very quickly end up being a 'nerf the good shit' kind of balancing mindset, which isn't something most people want, rather you need to buff what feels weak right now IMO
Bought food could be a bit more expensive, but then you need to provide alternatives for early game, if you add this as just a drain to the player's resources without providing for alternative ways to make up for it then it just feels like shit, I wasn't complaining about MRE's being inexpensive and what I had to go for, but rather, I had either no real alternatives, or all other alternatives were simply too demanding time/effort wise
Other than that the bowl stacking is another thing. The fact that you cannot stack them again when you use them once.
Now the dumbest suggestions I ever gave, because I need my bowel movements to be realistic in my submarine game.
Could you change it to where instead of waiting an awkwards amount of time until the character defecates, they instead defecate multible times in a bit quicker succession, each time lowering the defecate bar a bit? So it makes a difference on how long you wait to go to the toilet and the amount the character actually defecates.
We want a sense of progression as you build your kitchen, but early game foods without the whole kitchen might be too limited
Appliances were MUCH more expensive before the update, they might still be (costs more titalloy than T6 hull upgrade)
Food balance is WIP, there's so much stuff to track, I'll take a look at MREs vs cooked meals, but grilling spineling kebabs should overall be way cheaper than buying food
Also, and this might just be lack of knowledge coming from me, but what are some very easy foods to prepare early game?
I thought an electric grill would be that answer, when I found I could easily cook some spineling on there I was very happy, but then the meat itself BARELY fills the hunger bar (and it also makes you sick), so it's a lot of work to get everything ready, and comes with disadvantages over just buying MREs
If I'm missing something on that front, please tell me so, but generally speaking I wish there was more edible foods you could make when you mostly just have access to early monster meat, and still don't have planters (or a sub too small for it) and all the appliances needed
Basically, it works great when you got a t3 subs with enough space and enough money/mats to craft all the appliances and buy all the oil and flour and spices, but before that? It's MRE time, all day, every day, and why wouldn't you?
To make food, you need space, power, work (have to get out of the sub and chop that meat), time (for all this), and often enough money (for the salt you can't find in a lucky wreck), this is just too much
Cont.
Salute to the Chef!
The issue is that you can harvest meat, stack it at 100% condition, but once the condition goes down, they get split if you remove them from the stack
I'll keep monitoring how people handle storage. There needs to be enough storage but it should never become "infinite"
Crafting also works, but at 0 skill it's very slow
We moved translations out of the mod so translators can update their text without updating the main mod. Translations need to be redone in a different mod
I will remove it from the description
I suggest using Hungry Europans Enforced for RP servers
