If it;s only finding 4500 faces, that's not the whole pack installed. Maybe you are subscribed but after subscribing, you need to go to the file in the Workshop and specifically download and install it. If that again fails, let me know if you tried the manual approach (this is the way non-Steam users install it). And download the fg file (the Complete Universe one in bold as there are two links on my forum signature block), unzip, and select all 48,000 of the .fg files and move them into the fg_files folder you found via the troubleshooting menu I describe below.Rewrite anything there if there are duplicates. Let me know how far in the manual process you got. Are you on the main forum and if so, what's your name there? Send me a PM there if it still won't work.

I ran force update/generate all player pics and it only processes about 4500 pics.

No, it's nearly every real player. Go to Settings at the bottom of the start screen, when the window pops up, go to the far right tap "troubleshooting", click "Open folder containing customizable data", there will be a folder called "fg_files". How many files are in there? If it is 48,000+ the pack is installed and you need to go to game settings and force a refresh of the facegens. If it is 4,000-ish files, it is not installed. If the workshop isn't working for you, go to the OOTP Official Forum, find any post by me (there's plenty) and then download the Complete Universe Pack 2.0 there from the link in my signature block. Unzip it. Open it and go to the folder and select all the individual .fg files using "select all" , copy them all, then directly paste them in that fg_files folder I showed you. The files cannot be in a subfolder that is in the fg_files folder. The game only looks for .fg's in that folder, not subfolders.

I've downloaded and installed this, and I don't see anything other than fictional characters. Does the FacePack only include players from certain years?

If you are playing an already existing game that has game-created fgs, you'll have to rerun the facegens. Once the game loads an fg, the game puts it in a cache so it doesn't have to generate it each time. Start a new game in say, 1986 and tell me if Wade Boggs looks like Wade Boggs. Or in 1975 and tell me Luis Tiant, looks like Luis Tiant. If they do, it is properly installed. If they are generic faces, the pack is not yet installed. The buttons to rerun the facegens are in Game Settings>Facegens. An individual player also has a an auto-reload button for just that player in the player editor. There are still plenty of old files in the pack that I would agree don't look sufficiently like the players, but those are an on-going project. It sounds to me though you are still seeing game-created ones.

Hi Greg. At the bottom of the OOTP 24 Start Screen is "Workshop" for the Steam version, of course - if not the Steam version, let me know). Go there to the Workshop and Subscribe. Then there will be a download option. Thereafter, the files (.fg) files will populate the "fg_files" folder on their own for the game to load them. Other mods like silvam's work similarly (subscribe, then download).

How do I download any of these add-ons?

I don't think your mod was the problem. I think it was a space issue on my hard drive. Sorry for the bad press. Any way I can delete comments?

The mod shouldn't impact crashes at all. Just adds files to the fg_files folder. For a new game, it depends what you want. For example, I don't use fictional facegens so I use Player Facegens "none", Create "Upon Player Creation", Update on Status Update. Those settings result in only players with actual fg files generating facegens. If you want players for whom no file is available to have fictional facegens, change the first selection to wither MLB Players or All Players depending on your preference. This is all under Game Settings>Players&Facegen. I was out of town for a few days and didn't have access to a computer so I'm a few days late replying. How'd it sort?

Updated the pack. May take an hour for Steam to clear it. Go to Workshop Central at the bottom of the OOTP Start Screen. It should note that there is an update to download. Download it and then hit Reinstall. Thanks for all the support.

A facegen loads the first time you visit a player page where a facegen is required, so most will load going forward fine. But to force updates game-wide, try Game Settings>Facegen tab>Update all Player Pictures. This may change the faces of fictional faces to different fictional faces but should also force the game to relook for a file to load for players that have a .fg file. Alternatively, going player by player, it is on the Payer Editor tab, Picture Functions (halfway down left-hand side) and then Auto-reload picture.

It should. If you have any issues (feel free to look up David Ortiz to see if it took), go to the Start Screen and at the bottom, select Workshop Central as I believe you can manage your subscriptions, reinstall, etc. from there.
