jbwinc 25 Apr, 2024 @ 6:46am
btw i have seen this locomotive
Enzocats  [author] 28 Mar, 2024 @ 11:59am
Probably not
Osku 28 Mar, 2024 @ 8:37am
Will you re-make it?
Enzocats  [author] 27 Mar, 2024 @ 11:57am
Fluids and glasses update broke this creation
Osku 26 Mar, 2024 @ 4:49am
After that it returns to 0 and does not go up?
Osku 26 Mar, 2024 @ 4:45am
When I spawn in the boiler pressuare is 5162.52 PSI
Enzocats  [author] 25 Dec, 2023 @ 7:44pm
Make sure physics simulation is set to high, but this locomotive was broken by the gasses update and no longer functions properly anyways

ill check in 1 day for a reapply
Musial Industry's 25 Dec, 2023 @ 1:24pm
enzocats could you guide me?
Musial Industry's 25 Dec, 2023 @ 1:23pm
hi i spawn i the loco in and parts are shaking uncontrollably, (i have vehicle damage off to start)
GERUNIMO 20 Dec, 2023 @ 6:25am
Time permitting, and when the updates/fixes with how steam is handled in the game stabilize we will fix whatever issues exist.
We appreciate your understanding during this period, and your continued interest!

same issue
Combat the Fox 19 Dec, 2023 @ 8:24pm
Anyone else having issues with boiler pressure? I can only ever get up to 60 psi max. Turning on the systems makes it go to about 30 psi. Something I'm doing wrong?
outrun 18 Dec, 2023 @ 2:42pm
when i do all the steps and when i get the the reverser step i cant make it go forward and im clicking e or q.
Osku 10 Dec, 2023 @ 4:47am
When i start it the pressuare stays at 32
Apple 7 Dec, 2023 @ 2:14pm

No
Glassbar 16 Nov, 2023 @ 5:26am
could you make the train fit the workbench with true train wheels
GERUNIMO 29 Oct, 2023 @ 4:59pm
Enzocats , well I'll be a monkey's uncle! Guess I'd better eat my words...atleast partially ;)
Enzocats  [author] 29 Oct, 2023 @ 1:28pm
The devs recently made it so that the heat from fireboxes is enough to kill any players standing near them so until they fix that the firebox does actually kill you
GERUNIMO 28 Oct, 2023 @ 8:37pm
jpkjoelstrup, I'm sorry I don't understand what "die to the heat" means. As far as I know you cannot die from you internal body temperature rising too high ingame.
Its worth noting that this build is likely not working as intended after the most recent bout of updates, but I'm sure in due time the Developers will fix things and thus Enzo and I will fix the NKP 759.
Sorry for you trouble, but thanks for the comment.
jpkjoelstrup 28 Oct, 2023 @ 5:44pm
i die to the heat all the time
GERUNIMO 22 Sep, 2023 @ 8:58pm
Officer, that pretty much sums it up, thanks for helping out!

crkcoffey, if you are ever in a "modern" (by which I mean anything newer then about the 1920's) home, and it has a fireplace, you will likely see a damper lever; and it works the same as one on a steam locomotive.
As you know, warm air rises; and a fire draws fresh air in from it's base. So if you can help it do so, you'll have yourself a roaring fire.
Same goes for if/when you go camping. If you want the fire to rage, clear some or all of the ash away from it's base. ;)

Hope that helps!

dampers are valves on the bottom of the firebox (i think?) that let air into the fire (they basically "damp" the fire with air if that makes sense), they're required for the fire to function or else it would run out of air and eventually die or lose heat drastically

on big locomotives like these, only one should be open while moving because too much air can blow out the fire
crkcoffey 22 Sep, 2023 @ 6:45pm
what are the front and back dampers instructions not clear enough
GERUNIMO 21 Aug, 2023 @ 10:01pm
Officer, ok good to hear you're following the directions.
Rather then "try" to keep the front damper closed, maybe a better way I should of said it was to NOT have it open at all. It'll blow out your fire in very short order.
Sorry for the confusion.
Seraph 21 Aug, 2023 @ 5:06pm
for the blower, i turn it off past 4 mph, as said by the startup checklist

i don't have the non-lifting injector activated, i prefer to use the feedwater pump, which i only use while moving

i do try to keep the front damper closed while moving forward. i'm gonna resort to saying the problem is my game because it's not happening to anybody else
GERUNIMO 20 Aug, 2023 @ 11:49pm
Officer, sorry you're having trouble. I'd be curious to now what other systems you have 'on', namely the Blower, and the "Non-Lifting Injector". They both require steam, (and in the case of the Injector, consume a large amount) and should only be used at low speeds or when stationary.
Also, (as counter intuitive as it is) the back damper is only for when going forwards, and the forward damper is for when reversing. I know, weird right?! But that's how it's done on the real deal....
GERUNIMO 20 Aug, 2023 @ 11:49pm
Using both dampers while stationary will have no ill effect on your fire (infact, I encourage it as it allows more air into the firebox without using the blower); BUT once moving the air being taken in one damper will pass over the fire and out the other damper literally blowing the fire out. Which appears is what is happening to you in your video.
If you have further trouble PLEASE let us know, and if there is a problem it will be fixed.

Again, sorry for the trouble but thanks for the video and explaining your problem(s), I hope this helps!
Seraph 20 Aug, 2023 @ 8:32pm
could the problem be how the fire reacts to pressure? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVnsdehg1jU
Enzocats  [author] 20 Aug, 2023 @ 7:33pm
Sorry I'm not the one who made the firing controller, let me ask Gerunimo and see if he knows anything about this
Seraph 20 Aug, 2023 @ 1:04pm
i believe i've identified the problem on my end - past a certain temperature (around 320c), the air intake gets forced to 8L/s, which causes the fire to die down below 120 and hover around 110/115 (125c is needed to get the boiler to create pressure), is there any way that i could fix this? what's even more confusing is that nobody else seems to be having the problem
Seraph 19 Aug, 2023 @ 9:55pm
i managed to keep the locomotive going by keeping full throttle and 20% power reverser. when the firebox got below 100c, i turned on the front damper, waited a few seconds, and the fire started back up again, then dies down, and the cycle repeats
Enzocats  [author] 19 Aug, 2023 @ 8:37pm
Sorry I cannot recreate the issue on my end, what I can think of is make sure infinite electricity is disabled and you leave the firebox locking door closed but I assume you already know this
Seraph 19 Aug, 2023 @ 7:01pm
sounds good! i'll be using your shinkansen 0 series for now, so far i'm really enjoying it with stormlink!
Enzocats  [author] 19 Aug, 2023 @ 7:00pm
Let me check it out tonight and make sure nothing is broken
Seraph 19 Aug, 2023 @ 6:43pm
i unfortunately forgot to include it in the video, but, the fire usually dies down to the ambient temperature, and i need to turn off then back on both dampers to get it going again
Enzocats  [author] 19 Aug, 2023 @ 6:39pm
The fire in the video isn't stopped it just lowers the temperature in order to control pressure, as long as the fire is above 100 C steam is being generated and I believe Gerunimo built this locomotive to run with a cooler fire
Seraph 19 Aug, 2023 @ 5:21pm
i believe that the locomotives firebox is bugged. i've followed the startup and getting moving checklist step-by-step aswell as the tips & tricks, and for some reason the fire randomly "stops", i can't do anything to prevent it, i've uploaded an unlisted video to provide more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTZH99-EN3M
