@Littleman

There's actually a name for it: copper-clad steel .
Ren 1 May, 2023 @ 12:11pm
You and me both, it may have not been much but your work was greatly appreciated :happy_yeti:
CyrusJazzberry  [author] 1 May, 2023 @ 12:00pm
Well, I'm glad it served its purpose until it became base!
Ren 1 May, 2023 @ 10:36am
o7 They finally implemented this into the base mod
Littleman 30 Apr, 2023 @ 3:41pm
@TurtleShroom Out of curiosity, what exactly are we making in Rimworld that is classified as bronze? Because I know for a fact that it ain't steel + stone, but I have no idea what we're making
TurtleShroom 29 Mar, 2023 @ 10:39am
Frankly, if I ever decide to get my butt in gear, I'm going to fix that dang Electricity Canning and Electricity Soup BS myself.
((((Semyon The Great)))) 29 Mar, 2023 @ 10:18am
electricity came before candles everyone knows that
TurtleShroom 29 Mar, 2023 @ 9:35am
Renegade is right. I will always hate is "Bronze" (THAT'S NOT BRONZE, THERE'S ACTUALLY A RL TERM FOR WHAT HE MADE) and "Rum" (THAT'S NOT RUM, IT'S DELICIOUS FERMENTED SWEAT).

Also, some of the stuff in the Vanilla Cooking Expanded Mod is ridiculous: you don't need ELECTRICITY to make soup. You don't even need electricity to make CANNED GOODS.
Londo 27 Mar, 2023 @ 4:14pm
wut!!?! fish aint meat!
Ren 26 Mar, 2023 @ 2:05pm
yo sorry for using your comments to talk about another author @CyrusJazzberry
Ren 26 Mar, 2023 @ 2:04pm
@Vexacuz Feel like his the popularity of his mods have given him a big ego, or he's always had one. Had seen a milk mod called "Vanilla Milk Expanded" and he was one of the first in the comments asking the author to explicitly say it wasn't by the Vanilla Expanded team, even though no one thought it was. That and his lazy excuse for phytokins man. Shit is weird, than again the rimworld community is kinda cringe
Vexacuz 25 Mar, 2023 @ 1:52pm
@Renegade

Yes, His mods ? Great. His takes ? Absolute cringe. He and Sarg have that Witcher animals mod only to go and make the race descriptions like "Hum,achtualy,they are genetic enginiried mutties" like bruh
Ren 25 Mar, 2023 @ 11:41am
@Vexacuz Oskar always seems to have some shit mechanic in every mod he's involved with. The most recent I can think of is the Phytokin not gaining food in sunlight, they just keep the same amount of food in light, that's not photosynthesis.
CyrusJazzberry  [author] 24 Mar, 2023 @ 3:10pm
The only pawn being forced to fish here is Roberto. (He's not the best at it but he's trying.)
For the Jerusalem 24 Mar, 2023 @ 1:14pm
The author is forcing me to start a colony of only non violent pawns and force them all to fish 24/7 until lthey die surrounded by thousands of fish that they killed.
Vexacuz 24 Mar, 2023 @ 1:09pm
I am projecting a possible explanation for the trait based on how it works in game, and also explaining why its bad for gameplay to follow this line of logic.

Also. Can't you just forbid fishing?? For a specific pawn ?
For the Jerusalem 24 Mar, 2023 @ 1:04pm
So in your opinion being non violent must mean that you are doing this because of PTSD and not some weird personal reason? And we all know that most people don't see plants as living beings.
Also i can't not use this patch, the creator is forcing me at gunpoint (he isn't a pacifist).
Vexacuz 24 Mar, 2023 @ 12:48pm
@For_the_Jerusalem

That would be another gameplay option,yes. Only a few of many that wont be harmed by this silly caveat.

As for killing the fish, if you ever fish in real life in anything that isnt open sea fishing (or something dumb like grappling fish as if you were a bear), you would know why that sounds dumb.

If a pawn is incapable of violence because the backstory grants it absurd ptsd then it would make sense it wouldnt hunt terrain game as holding any firearm sends them back to space Vietnam.

If the pawn was doing it for some vegan logic they woudnt butcher or eat meat or get major debuffs for doing so...... but they are Fine.

Hell why even stop there. Have them incapable of chopping trees because you are killing plants, have them incapable of using waste-tech because you are harming the planet or something.

At that point i would probably butcher Them instead. But yeah. Maybe just dont use the patch?
For the Jerusalem 24 Mar, 2023 @ 11:51am
I feel like fishing deserves to be violent because you are killing a fish, while butchering and eating meat is not violent, because they are already dead.
And also @Vexacuz no, fishing is meant to be an alternative to constantly marking animals for hunting and sending your hunter into the middle of nowhere where he will get killed by the upcoming raid, which is why it's less effective that hunting. Oh and i guess you can make sushi or something, but why.
CyrusJazzberry  [author] 23 Mar, 2023 @ 7:31pm
Personally, I can see why it would be classed as violent in terms of a gameplay sense, since fish *are* a type of wildlife. However, that tends to get in the way of roleplay purposes. One could also argue that nonviolent pawns shouldn't be able to butcher or eat meat since that would be inherently violent, but yet they do. Plus, fishing on the Rim is probably one of the *least* violent things you can do. Pescatarians exist.

And please keep the comments respectful.
Vexacuz 23 Mar, 2023 @ 6:41pm
@Andreww

Who the hell cares abot the fish ? Its about logistics. The whole point of a fishing mod is that we can put the non/less violent pawns to gather food while violents are hunting and you cant grow plants.

Bs like this is typical dumb personal ideology that you find in every other Oskar mod that undermines the purpose of his own mod.

I am very gratefull this modders and others are able to weed out loose ends like this and give a better experience in general.

Maybe Mysims and Barbie games are more up your Alley ?
Andreww 23 Mar, 2023 @ 6:10pm
How is fishing not violent? You're killing an animal lmao
CyrusJazzberry  [author] 22 Mar, 2023 @ 12:01pm
Happy to help!
Nameless 22 Mar, 2023 @ 11:22am
Thank you @CyrusJazzberry! I was looking for that for so long!!! I needed that for my pacifist colony and always found it stupid that fishing is considered violent. You are the best!
TurtleShroom 22 Mar, 2023 @ 9:53am
Wait wait, VFE ACTUALLY CLASSED FISHING AS VIOLENCE?!

That's just straight-up gay. Holy crap.
1Z Rison 22 Mar, 2023 @ 4:05am
You're telling me fishing yield does not scale with melee skill?

Ever wrangled an eel? (I haven't. I also do not have high melee skill)
Vexacuz 21 Mar, 2023 @ 7:04pm
Thank you. Begone with BS.
Mr McNificent 21 Mar, 2023 @ 5:08pm
Did not know how much this was needed until right now. Great work :D
Lava 21 Mar, 2023 @ 4:15pm
FISH LIVES MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
