The unlock rules haven't been modified, so you need a savefile with VG Ironclad, Silent, and Defect completed.

I have ben playing for a bit and am at ascension 4. How do I get act 4 unlocked?

The current reward deck is actually printed to the ModTheSpire window whenever you change rooms. It'll look something like this:
INFO BoardGame.BoardGame> ALL cards:
INFO BoardGame.BoardGame> 1-BGBurning Pact 2-BGWarcry 3-BGTwin Strike (etc...) 56-BGSentinel 57-BGWarcry 58-BGPommel Strike

The next three cards on top of the reward deck are at the end of the list -- in this case, Sentinel, Warcry, and Pommel Strike. You should only see rare cards when you draw a BoardGame:GoldenTicket. I've checked and it appears to be working correctly -- there are only two Golden Tickets and they aren't teleporting around or anything. 🤷

don't know if this has been asked before, but i noticed in my two runs with the mod i was drawing A LOT of rares as basic rewards.

in one run by the first boss I had four rares. that doesn't sync with BG rules.

Combat rewards in the boardgame are determined by which specific enemies you fight. If you have the Bestiary mod installed, you can shift-rightclick an enemy and it'll tell you the rewards for the current encounter. I checked just now and potions appear to be dropping correctly from the enemies that drop them.

I'm very impressed with the boardgame mod. Very good! However, I noticed I'm not receiving potions after the fights. Is that a bug?

Watcher's "Protect" card has finally been added along with a slew of bugfixes. Most of the controller/steamdeck-related crashes have been fixed too.

I will not be finishing the Experimental Multiplayer Feature easter egg. It would be easier just to rewrite the entire game from scratch in Godot.

...Oh heck, I'm rewriting the entire game from scratch in Godot, aren't I...

There is, in fact, one "experimental features" button in the mod config screen that will let you play multiple characters at once. For one room. And then the game crashes.

Well, we did warn you it was experimental...

There is a checkbox buried somewhere in the mod options that will give the other 3 squares a purpose. For about 2 minutes. Then the game will probably crash.

I know you said no multiplayer support above but why is there 4 squares at the start with one of them being filled when a character picked. Also would it be possible to play as multiple characters at once?

Are you using a fresh save file? IIRC the game checks your vanilla Ironclad/Silent/Defect progress to determine if A4 is unlocked. ...I should probably add that to the todo list.

hwo do i unlock act 4? I see in the setting that I can unlock all 13 ascensions. I see that I can new game straight to a4. but i cant find the ability to turn a4 on and collect keys and such.

This seems to be caused by one or more mods interfering with monster targeting, most commonly Quick Restart. (The Board Game mod is running multiple characters behind the scenes, and if a monster somehow attacks a character you're not playing as, they die and the game is over. This is obviously not supposed to happen.)

I've also noticed through multiple runs that the Gremlin Wheel event has a really high chance of showing up for some reason.

Not that it matters in regards to the video game 'cause it's single player only, but Swivel doesn't say 2/3 block to any player. Thought I'd mention it 'cause other cards to mention it.

The Knowing Skull event has a visual-only bug. When you pick card reward or potion reward the gold option says you get 2 gold instead of 3. It does give 3 though. So this is only on the second set of choices.

A small thing. Outmanouver's text description is slightly off when upgraded. It goes from saying "Retain. When played, if you Retained this last turn, gain xx." to "Retain. When played, if you Retained card last turn, gain xxx."

No crashes on my end. Likely some other mod is interfering with the "board game lets you change targets for the second card" interface. That's still obviously not ideal and should get looked into, so I'm setting up a Crash Reports thread.

All of the "game crashes after everything is already dead because a targeting screen popped up" bugs should be fixed. This wasn't an issue with the targeting screen itself, but rather some of the effects that called the targeting screen weren't processing the result properly. These should all be working now, let me know if we missed anything.

I think the HP isn't tracking correctly. I die randomly to attacks while at gull HP. Sometimes I get hit and my HP doesn't change.

Null pointer exception crash after I played a Loop card

Great mod, only problem I have run into is an null pointer exception when juggernaut triggers with nothing to target probably just needs a catch for arrays of size zero.

The fact that some relics have to be used at the start of the turn is annoying, e.g being forced to use Charon's Ashes before I can play Feel No Pain

Met with the "Living wall" event. Decided to use Whetstone relic to upgrade strike and another attack first. Then chose "Transform" on an upgraded strike. This played the upgrade strike animation again, without any effect. (silent run)

Also, the boss relics seem to reroll each time I load said ironclad run.
On the bright note, it seems that on this save file the "skip" function on boss card reward works properly.

I was doing a silent run, until I reached the boss chest. I saw the options for boss relic and card reward. decided to take a look at the cards, then pressed "skip" to take a gander at boss relics again. Doing so caused all reward to disappear and only option being "proceed". Thinking that this would cause all my rewards to be gone, I decided to "save and quit", then pressed "continue" in main menu. To my surprise, I opened an ironclad board game run at a boss chest of act 2, one which I have no memory of playing. It seems my Silent save file is gone.
My best guess is that the game loading function always assumes you are playing ironclad and wrongfully interprets data. Could have something to do with the boss rewards room.
