Sneakiness level through the roof lol! Great chamber, new things were fun not annoying or frustrating.

making the little cube guy stuck on a tiny platform above the abyss without any access to rescue him was the meanest thing i saw today! great chamber :)

I love it when the level seems totally obscure, and then you finally see one little detail that unravels the entire experience!!

I downloaded BEE2 and this open 80's style isn't in there. Did you download the pre-release, and if so, how did you install it?

Very nice map. Lots of fun. Now I am going to make some lemonaide.

I ran into a problem while playtesting where the cube randomly fizzled while I was in the room. I'm not sure what caused it - but I just threw in a white panel just to be safe.

Question, was there any need for the portable wall in the small room with the super-blue-gel? Because i can't see how you could get stuck there or whatever
neeko  [author] 13 Aug, 2014 @ 1:35am
Not sure, sorry.
Gingi 13 Aug, 2014 @ 12:47am
Hey mate, on the Bee2 mod subject: You wouldn't happen to know wether you can install it on Ubuntu or not?

Nice chamber. It was well thought out and very fun to play. Thumbs up.
Did you do this chamber in Hammer?

Would you please try this one?

I liked this. I thought it was going to be harder than it actually was. Nice chamber.

@iserit It's a mod for the in-game editor called BEEMOD. It adds new assets to the editor and can change the style/theme of your map. This particular map uses the 1980's open style. Hammer was not used to create this map.(Hopefully I can utilize a bit of Hammer on my next map. I'm not very familiar with it yet.) You can download the mod here - http://portal2backstock.com/bee2/

The last part made me think, and I love to do that. This map is realy good. I like the detail with the frankencube; it realy confused me for a second.
SiaMio 6 Aug, 2014 @ 3:14pm
@iserit There is a wonderful program called hammer editor.
iserit 6 Aug, 2014 @ 12:58pm
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT LOOK LIKE OLD APERTURE?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Ma$ter T 6 Aug, 2014 @ 12:08pm

Thanks for pointing this out. There should now be a fizzler field when you enter the testing chamber in order to prevent this.
dragondrugs 6 Aug, 2014 @ 2:52am
If you place a portal in the entrance's roof, go into the test, place the opposite portal and go through, you can get trapped.
neeko  [author] 5 Aug, 2014 @ 5:30pm
Hahaha, yeah Cave's rant is my favorite bit of Portal dialogue. Thanks for the feedback, my biggest problem seems to be that my tests are too short and simple - I'm still figuring out how to stretch them out a bit more without adding too many variables.
TS_Mind_Swept 5 Aug, 2014 @ 4:48pm
oh, but I loved Cave's Lemmon rant at the end, so you get a like for that. :D
TS_Mind_Swept 5 Aug, 2014 @ 4:47pm
It was better than the last, but it still seemed kind of short, there was a franken-cube in one place, I was hoping to have to go in there as part of the test, but i couldn't. Although i grabbed it through the glass and dropped it off of the ledge it was on. I guess in something is sticking partially through glass you can grab it, and since it moves, then it's got a little bit that you can grab onto. Overall it was ok, but nothing spectacular. 7.5/10
wildgoosespeeder 5 Aug, 2014 @ 2:11pm
This was OK. Your part three was better. Be careful about "portal bumping" (Google it) with your fizzlers...
dire.fcs 5 Aug, 2014 @ 9:29am
Nice well designed map!
bonkrood 3 Aug, 2014 @ 8:20am
I liked it, a fun map, keep up the good work. :)
ZAEROS 1 Aug, 2014 @ 4:50am
Good fun map, Nice use of laser switches, Enjoyed, Thank you.
neeko  [author] 31 Jul, 2014 @ 5:49pm
Thanks. I think I'm going to change the dispenser to only drop when the button is pressed as the auto drop along with a button feels a bit redundant. The only issue with removing the buttons is that the player could throw the cube into the red fizzler covered room without really thinking (or by accident) and then the puzzle becomes unsolvable without a way to retrieve the cube from the room or a button to respawn one manually.
siamesedrummer 31 Jul, 2014 @ 5:02pm
Decent map. I felt like the cube drop buttons were unnecessary though. I would either make them auto-drop only, or only drop when the button is pressed. I love the retro Aperture theme and Cave's commentary.
