I genuinely think the mana costs on their supers needs to be turned down b/c I just find myself Not Having Supers.

Well, [Focus] used to be a move before I updated Pixie to 2.0, but I ended up removing it for a number of reasons, one of them being that having the option to repair the barrier with essentially no risk isn't as fun to play against and that it encouraged playing passively.

Now simply dealing damage to the opponent will temporarily repair the barrier if it isn't broken, and will recharge the barrier at a quicker rate if it is.

The changelogs say there's a move called Focus used to repair your barrier, but I never saw the option. Is it only usable if your barrier isn't broken?

today I fought pixie for the first time ever
today I am uninstalling pixie
a low health pool is not a good balance for a character that's faster than mutant, more mobile than cowboy, as good a zoner as wizard, and has a hitbox half a pixel in size.

im also pretty sure the Ninja bug thing has a chance to happen to any modded character since it has also happened to me before whenever i tried to pick a modded character. i wish i knew how or why it happens since it kinda feels like it just happens at random

for more precision, my game started violently flicking, making the prediction ok to see but the actual replays unwatchable, also each times the prediction resets after a few seconds, its flickers again

Thank you so much for the transparency. Honestly Pixie is a great character conceptually and I love how unique they are. It's a slippery slope with characters like these with high risk (low hp) and high reward (good combo potential). Compared to day 1 Pixie, I will say with certainty you've come a really long way, and it's okay to slip up sometimes with such a delicately balanced character! I also like how the barrier works and how you sort of have to adjust playstyles depending on what state it's in. It's hard to balance around so many different experiences at once too.

If you want my advice, I think an ideal Pixie is one you have to treat differently whether you have to play as or against them, which is why I'm weary about changes that seem to start making it easier treat her as if she's another cowboy with another air option when going against her.

I am going to be extremely honest here.

I really like the idea of Pixie as a character and a concept. Whenever I think of a character I want them to feel unique, something that defines them specifically, it's actually the reason why she why her barrier negates all damage in the first place. However, this was my first ever character created and all I ever hear about her is how unbalanced she is, which I understand since I suck at balancing. I really wanted to attempt to fix her and make her better, but I have zero clue how to even go about it, and it feels like every time I update any character I'm just taking 2 or 3 steps backwards. I dunno man.

I might just revert the mod back, this was the first time I haven't felt good putting a patch out and I guess it shows.

I feel like in early Yomi this would be balanced but alot of moves were straight up removed and alot of fun combo potential was erased. This feels more like a lite version of Pixie than Pixie V2 in my opinion, which is why I'm struggling to find a reason to play them as opposed to other characters who do what they do better with half the punishment (double resource, extra damage taken, etc). Maybe there's a saving grace I'm missing but I'm a little disheartened after reading the docs.

soo not sure if this is an issue with the mod itself or with the game (seeing as it's happened with another mod too) but pixie is showing up as Null when i select it and the match just doesn't work when i load it with pixie as one the fighters

okay, ill look at those moves and balance them accordingly. I was thinking about nerfing Pixie's hitstun anyway

i genuinely thought hitstun around 30 frames was fine until recently... glad to know i was, infact, out of my mind!

Currently very strong if not overpowered. Bouncer and Chain Reaction threaten too much space for them to beat wait, and Blender is generally stronger than other Mana Blade moves (compare it to Heavy Swing and Power Dive). I recommend changing Bouncer and Chain Reaction to be frame 11+ and parriable, and changing Blender's startup to 5+ frames.

Came back from the dead to update Pixie again, this time emphasizing her reliance on the barrier and adding a difference between floating and falling!

As well as adding a move that increases mana regen since she might need it.

I love the idea behind this one as sort of a glass cannon, though I think it needs more emphasis on the 'glass' part, maybe by decreasing the HP a bit. I feel the barrier would work best if it felt more like a lifeline than a safety net.

Very interesting character. The only flaws I could find are all mentioned before. Could definitely be considered overpowered with the barrier, though not unbeatable.

The difference between floating and standing always felt like a redundant feature to me at first. There's no reason to stand on the ground when you can just float and slide, which sends you more than enough distance. By making more of a difference between standing and floating, you open the character up to have multiple ways to play her (favoring one or the other, or doing a mix).

I do have some more moves planned for Pixie, however I never really considered her floating as some type of stance, but it could be interesting
Maybe next update I'll try to add more things that change whether you're floating or not, like what [Judgement] does
