Mesopotamia Reborn

I've run into three bugs:

1. The "Sons of Marduk" tradition doesn't seem to work. I can't designate heirs, and the dividing before war event doesn't fire. (Unless I'm missing something for that latter part.)

2. The Mesopotamian society that can be created doesn't let at least the ayer character in. I've tried and it fires the event to pay, and I do, and nothing happens. I havent tried it with the marshal society yet, just the learning one.

3. Holy Wars end right when I start them, which a message saying that the CB is no longer valid. GHWs work just fine though.

All that said, I've had a blast playing as a Chaldean forming the Babylonian Empire, and love the mod thus far. Thanks for the hard work!

Hey, Malthric! I've finally had a chance to go back over my mods after starting my new job, and I see what you're talking about. Apparently, I forgot to implement a random event that would allow you to become pagan, plus an alternate version of the "Study the Classics" decision. I'll also be trying to make the Sons of Nergal a creatable society like the Bacchants.
malthric 2 Aug @ 11:47am
will the pagan religions finally be an option now?
Valarian of Naples  [author] 7 Jun @ 9:23pm
Can do!

In other news, I just discovered a surprising bug with the Go On A Pilgrimage button. If your religion allows you, but it's not specifically listed in the event "SA.5000" as qualifying for a particular event, your character will be stuck in "do not disturb" mode while trying to plan a pilgrimage, meaning that you will be unable to participate in any other in-game activity besides maybe leading an army. I'll have that fixed in the next release.

Would you add the Armenian Apostolic Chuch?
John Horseman 8 Mar @ 6:36am
looking fowards for the update !
Valarian of Naples  [author] 28 Jan @ 3:20pm
I'll put the mod under maintenance soon. I was planning on adding a new update this year, anyway.
malthric 27 Jan @ 12:23pm
i removed all other mods and this mod still won't work.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 26 Jan @ 10:14pm
Do you have anything that changes the file "00_religions", or anything that affects religion or secret society files?
malthric 26 Jan @ 1:23pm
what mods would interfere with this mod?
Valarian of Naples  [author] 14 Jan @ 10:32pm
Are you running any mods that affect the 00_religions.txt file? I've tested it on my end, and it works fine.
andrew050404 31 Dec, 2024 @ 12:44am
I can't find any Mesopotamian religion either
Valarian of Naples  [author] 16 Dec, 2024 @ 1:18am
Are you running any other mods?
malthric 15 Dec, 2024 @ 1:17pm
i still can't find any Mesopotamian religions
pc_suffering 11 Oct, 2024 @ 4:46am
What duke do I have to start as to have it?
Valarian of Naples  [author] 3 Aug, 2024 @ 12:04am
I just dropped a minor update that will hopefully fix many of the problems already reported. Also, I'm preparing for the addition of the Aramean Empire title and the upcoming release of my unified portrait mod.
skuggvarg.13 7 Jul, 2024 @ 5:54am
I seem to have the same issues many have allready voiced concern over. Neither the culture group(s) or the religions are just not there. Thanks thou8gh for a very awesome mod
:steamhappy:
malthric 2 May, 2024 @ 5:47am
the mod wont give me the pagan Mesopotamian religion
Andrew42 21 Apr, 2024 @ 10:53pm
Also, tooltip_mesopotamian_battle_trance in mesopotamian_decisions_and_events.csv is missing the ;;;;;;;;;x that loc is supposed to have.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 21 Apr, 2024 @ 10:52pm
Thanks for bringing that up! I was actually planning to update this mod soon to address another unrelated bug I'd discovered while testing a completely different mod.
Andrew42 21 Apr, 2024 @ 10:48pm
The warrior training for the disciples of Ashur doesn't work. It looks like adding the society and commander trait to add_warrior_lodge_leader_trait_effect should fix it.
RC15O5 8 Apr, 2024 @ 1:43pm
A version of this combined with the 633 Rise of Islam mod would be awesome!
JCD 7 Apr, 2024 @ 7:29pm
Great mod but more compatible version would be perfect.
VersionZero 9 Mar, 2024 @ 10:46pm
I mean it's easily possible to not modify core files like 00-cultures.txt and 00_religions.txt
Btw if you wanna make a flavor expansion mod together lmk :steamhappy:
Valarian of Naples  [author] 9 Mar, 2024 @ 9:34pm
That might prove difficult, because alot of changes that I've made, such as changing the Assyrian retinues, requires editing the base files. But I'll see what I can do.
VersionZero 9 Mar, 2024 @ 3:53pm
@Valarian of Naples can we have a more compatible version of this mod that only modifies the religion_strip.dds file it would help with people who make mod merger or make compatch mods
Valarian of Naples  [author] 8 Mar, 2024 @ 10:41pm
If anyone has been unable to search for a smith, I would like to formally and sincerely apologize. I had made an error during the previous update where I forgot to add a single bracket to the MNM Society Decisions file. The random "Decision" button should be gone, and smith searching should be back online.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 8 Mar, 2024 @ 12:26pm
Not compatible with the Redux.
豐川示羊子 8 Mar, 2024 @ 7:14am
Not compatible with Jarls of India Redux?
Valarian of Naples  [author] 7 Mar, 2024 @ 4:29pm
Minor update 2.0.1
Mesopotamian Societies have been fixed.
Nergal's Rot has also been fixed and nerfed.

I will continue to look into and fix any and all bugs and issues as they are reported or are discovered. Thank you for continuing to support this mod, and remember to rate it if you enjoy it!
Valarian of Naples  [author] 6 Mar, 2024 @ 12:28am
I actually found another problem I didn't have before, and that's what happens when the ten Muslims who start off in the Sons of Nergal all decide to unleash Nergal's Rot at the same time.

I'll start working on fixing these issues. Societies have been one of the most difficult and tedious parts of mod production for me.
Silva 6 Mar, 2024 @ 12:25am
Very nice! Though, it seems that there's some broken stuff. Specifically, the Mesopotamian pagan societies seem to be missing their intrigue descisions and their powers, at least the ones you activate manually. When you reform the religion, the text also cuts off right after it says the type of organization it has now.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 5 Mar, 2024 @ 3:21pm
Version 2.0 has just been launched! I will also be providing a manual download link soon for anyone interested.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 3 Mar, 2024 @ 3:00pm
With the right reformation doctrines, it can be done!
𐌶𐍉𐌻𐍄𐍂𐌰𐌰𐌺 3 Mar, 2024 @ 5:52am
'tis the Age of Sin! Can't wait to celebrate offering some heretics to our Goddess~ :misfit:
Silva 2 Mar, 2024 @ 8:38pm
Well, that's ominous...
Valarian of Naples  [author] 2 Mar, 2024 @ 6:40pm
Just a small note: The Bull of Heaven event chain will have to be postponed for a future update, but the Mesopotamian Religion has been fully implemented.
Silva 2 Mar, 2024 @ 6:26pm
To see this is still alive....truly a joyous occasion!
Valarian of Naples  [author] 2 Mar, 2024 @ 3:18pm
UPDATE: Mesopotamia Reborn 2.0 will launch very soon! make sure that you possess the following DLC to enjoy the full experience:
- Holy Fury
- Monks and Mystics
Valarian of Naples  [author] 21 Feb, 2024 @ 12:19am
UPDATE: a major bug that had been delaying mod development progress has finally been resolved, and progress is now resuming.
thepoweredminers 10 Nov, 2023 @ 7:02pm
think there's mandeans for the chaldeans an idea that could be added eventually?
Valarian of Naples  [author] 27 Aug, 2023 @ 7:16pm
Check out the new CK2 Version discussion post! I'm back in action and ready to unleash the Bull of Heave- wait, I wasn't supposed to mention that yet. Ignore that!
Todd Rizzardi 15 May, 2023 @ 12:05pm
i've been looking for a mesopotamia mod. thank you
Dan van Dante 24 Mar, 2023 @ 9:20pm
An amazing mod about the start of civilization. Please, sir, add a total conversion mod about Mesopotamia.
Valarian of Naples  [author] 20 Mar, 2023 @ 8:52am
Thanks for catching that, AgedWisdom! I'll be sure to create an incompatibility list.
AgedWisdom 12 Mar, 2023 @ 3:51pm
@RC1505 Late reply I know but having CK2+ active is definitlely the reason. CK2+ has it's own religions, religion icons are dictated by the icon image strip with each image having a number affixed to it via the religion file. What happens is that CK2+ likely has a religion with the same number associated with it as one of this mods religions does.

The game is then overwriting one mods files in favour of another but as a result there aren't enough symbols to line up with the religons in game wich then causes the icons to spin and switch around. In very bad cases you might end up with half of one icon and half of another in the UI.

In other words, always check compatibility when modding.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
Dorvrith 3 Mar, 2023 @ 8:09pm
This looks cool, hopefully for the religion you can make it so you can choose a patron deity, and dedicate temples to them
RC15O5 3 Mar, 2023 @ 12:17am
I am keenly interested in this, but I have a glitch where every religion has it's icon shifted, like Zoroastrians have Aztec religious symbol and Orthodox get Islamic crescent. Anyone else have this problem? It could be a clash due to me having CK2+ enabled.
Melonist 2 Mar, 2023 @ 11:57pm
Very cool mod! Just a slight nitpick; the flag used for the Assyrian Empire is a modern one. Perhaps it could be replaced with a larger version of the Ashur symbol featured at the top?
Elidurden123 1 Mar, 2023 @ 11:45am
Thanks for continuing to make mods for this game and I eagerly await the mesopotamian faith.
