the issue ive been having with this mod has been that the UI for the ship building seems to extend to everything else and wont let me build modules for the station. Is there a fix for it? It worked before the Vivarium DLC

Have you checked your load order? I had the same problem just now, but putting the UI overhaul AFTER this mod seems to have fixed the problem

This mod is a must have and am grateful to the author for making it. as a note to keep it mostly working after this last update I found that if you place this mod before NSC in load order (As in NSC overwrites some things in this mod) It still gives you most functions with some slot issues on the last two size upgrade levels on stations. Hope that helps until a fix is found/made.
Since the last stellaris update the ui for starbases seems to get drawn twice causing this mods features to be behind the other default ui and thus not be able to be interacted with.

I have the mod as 1 of the last mods in the list and do not use nsc
Am using ui overhaul and dark blue ui remake

“orbital_phy/soc/eng_support_lab”,‘show_in_tech’ reference is invalidated.Because, The ‘tech_phy/soc/eng_1/2/3/4’ is blocked by vanilla.
Hopefully this MOD will restart the Orbital Science Lab!

@Xelan I have the same problem as Tyrannus Primus but in combination with NSC3.
They fight and the orbital ring disappears on completion.
I think it's because NSC has orbital ring edits that this mod overrides.

The fix below by @Xelan seems to work in allowing the game to boot up when combined with NSC. However, even though at the beginning you might be able to save the game, quit to desktop and then start the save, there will be a point after which if you wish to load a save file the game will start crashing. I cannot test at the moment if this is:
1) A mac only issue
2) Mod compatibility issue
3) This mod as standalone frying the late game
Thus i am posting as a warning to others and seeking a solution to this issue if anyone has had similar issues

Orbital Ring has a bug unfortunately, after construction it just straight up disappears

@Soren Von Richthofen: Well, I don't think it's necessary for every file of this mod, but if you want this mod to override everything and not be overridden by anything, that seems to be the way to go.

Solution: Apparently the name of the actual .txt file matters and forgotten queens starbase file is name "x_starbases" and therefore overrides "cj_starbases" and "nsc_starbases" of this mod. Adding a "z" to the file names of this mod solves the issue.
There might be better solutions, but this works.

I went pocking around with the conflict solver of the irony mod manager and found several mod that touch starbases.txt: scripted trigger undercoat, expanded gestalts: forgotten queens, and NSC3.
After some more testing it turns out that expanded gestalts: forgotten queens is the culprit here. As soon as I turn that mod off, the starbases work as intended.
No idea how a mod with load order 43 can override stuff from a mod with load order 79, but apparently that can happen:BL3Shrug:
Question is: what can be done about that? Preferably without everyone making their own conflict solving patch with the mod manager.

same issue as Krispy as well. Did a few (lots of) tests, every time with a completely fresh game.
What I tried:
NSC < SBE2 (this mod) < Starnet for NSC3 < a few UI mods < merger of rules
Result: SBE2 got overridden completely. No extra slots, maybe a few modules got through, since I got 2 different versions of starbase engineers

all < SBE2
Result: Extra slots of this mod are visible, but locked. So still only 2 slots available at starport level.

disabled anything NSC related.
Result: same as before.

disabled merger of rules and UI mods that I usually load late.
Result: same as before.

disabled everything else.
Result: works.
So there is definitely one or more mod(s) that fuck with this mod.

Also, not sure if anyone has found this, but the base tech_engineering_1/2/3 have been commented out by our friends at Paradox (check out sommon/Stellaris/common/technology/00_eng_tech.txt for example), this leads to buildings like Navy Expert Sector not being reachable.

I am able to see all of the building slots for modules and starbase buildings, but only like 1/4 of them are unlocked and I'm already at the citadel upgrade. I have this mod set in the load order below NSC, UIO, and PLanet Diversity. Anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

Is there going to be an update? starports only have 4 modules and no buildings slots. Haven't even gotten to the upgrades yet.

Hi. Thanks for maintaining the mod. I was getting some serious performance issues on a beefy machine in the late game. At first I thought it was the species or number of pops, but it seems it's spamming a lot of Headquarters size starbases that was causing the issue. I ran the following console command to downgrade them one step to Stronghold, and performance returned:

effect every_owned_starbase = { limit = { has_starbase_size = starbase_headquarters } set_starbase_size = starbase_stronghold }

I am not sure what is causing the Headquarters issue, might be the sheer number of slots multiplied by a lot of starbases. Hope that helps.

If anyone else gets the bug where the new starbase tiers are just blank, try toggling the "auto generate designs" in the fleet manager on and off and then reconstructing the starbase. Better than starting a new save.

Is anyone else having issues with the Stronghold size starbases not having any weapons, shields, armor, or aux components?

Everything is fine until I upgrade to Stronghold. I haven't tried Headquarters yet.

I did indeed, thank you for letting me know, I just updated it. It doesn't seem to change anything so I'll release it alongside the next update.

I think you have forgotten to remove a closing bracket at the end of the common\ship_sizes\cj_starbases.txt file.
At least Irony Mod Manager reports it as invalid.

@gamersonline I am sorry to hear that, I just double checked and was able to build any ship type. Are you using any other mods? Usually these kinds of errors are related to a conflict between two or more mods.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your feedback!

I'm aware that some users encounter issues when upgrading starbases. However, I haven't been able to "replicate" this bug, leading me to believe it's not directly related to the mod itself but rather compatibility issues with other mods.

I'm actively addressing compatibility issues, but I can't make any promises. Since I use the mod myself, I'll strive to keep it up to date and bug-free. With various ongoing commitments, major updates may be infrequent.

Feel free to reach out if you have any bug fixes or compatibility patches, ... . I'd be more than happy to incorporate them into the mod and give you credit. As I'm not the original creator, I view this as a communal project and am grateful for all the help I can get.
