The far greater impact is from all the extra animals I end up keeping just because I like their coats!
The dimorphic designs are something I might play around with in the future with less complexly patterned critters. If others are interested in attempting it for their own mods, I left my notes on how to get basic dimorphic masking effects in the patch on this mod. No guarantees it will work, but it was functional in my preliminary testing. ^^
Rooster-specific patterns can be done by switching off the complex shader for hens so masking only affects roosters. That was my original plan with this mod, but anything beyond the most basic masking+lineart colour patterns came out very muddy and didn't look great on either. Very disappointing, but once I abandoned the dimorphic design attempts it was far less frustrating to work on and looked SO much better. :D
