anyway to get a double heatsink version added along side to this to work with the clan stuff? alot of the omni mechs have fixed double heatsinks

Hi Guys, started the game today. It shows me the lower tonnage of the mechs, but when i want to play a mission, i am over. Have a bunch of YAML mods installed, could this be the problem?

I just updated my game, ran it with this mod (and a few YAML mods)and it worked just fine. Should still be working since it's a fairly simplistic mod that modifies existing single heat sinks in the game.

Snow, unfortunately, I'm only a beginner at this. I have no idea how to add new assets or make them appear as a separate asset with a low black market rate. I only occasionally mod to add things I like to use on my mechs from time-to-time. Unfortunately I wasn't even able to make these apply to omni-mechs, from YAML, as was asked earlier. If I get back into it, and really start to get into hardcore modding, I'll go back and take a look but, for now, it is what it is. A simple cheat mod to use and abuse if you want.

would be neat to see this as some kind of new heatsink variant, rairity being tunable, to make such 'special' heatsinks occasionally pop up on black market etc rather than being the 'default' ones we already have...?

Yes the mechs are lighter, in some cases they might have negative weight because the regular heat sinks reduce weight by -10 tons; however, the mech jumping capability is determined by the number of jump jets and nothing else. I have never seen anything to indicate the weight of the mech determines how far they can jump and the npc mechs have predetermined configurations that never change and never account for changes in the weight of equipment.

It modifies single heat sinks only. instead of single heat sinks cooling at 0.1 rate and weighing 1 ton. They now have a 2.0 cooling rate and subtract -10 tons from your mech weight allowing you to build some ridiculous builds. They also have more heat capacity but I can't remember how much I modified it by and it doesn't really matter since using this mod should keep your heat down to almost nothing with just a few single heat sinks installed.

I didn't realize that, I haven't gotten far enough to get omnimechs, no promises but, I'll see what I can do to mod double heat sinks as a separate mod.

It wouldn't be impossible but it would be difficult for me since I've only just dabbled in modding. I would have to unpack their mod, find their asset and modify it to work with their mod and then make it overwrite their heatsink. Not impossible, but not easy for me. Are you looking for something stronger than this heatsink or just want something that does the exact same thing with 2 critical slots taken?

This mod should work with all YAML stuff. I use all the main YAML mods, including Yet Another Clan Mech in my own game. All this mod does is change the stats to regular heatsinks and since YAML doesn't touch regular heat sinks there should be no conflict. Only mods that adjust stats on regular heatsinks would overwrite or be incompatible.
