There are multiple points in vanilla files and other mods where it looks for the number of wards. Every spot where num_of_relation_ward < 2 needs to be changed to the updated ward limit amount. I have this fixed in my super compatch.

@Kaepbora. I'm in the same boat where I'm trying to trim down which mods I'm maintaining. The Super Compatch is enough. I'm dreading any major updates to the game lol.

@Kaepbora. I haven't been on discord in a bit, but you can run a quick search for num_relation_ward in the vanilla files. The only weird ones are where it asks for num_relation_ward <1. I had to make an additional value called FF_ward_limit_minus_one which was the ward limit value add = -1.

The 05_bp2_hostage_effects file needs to be updated to account for this, otherwise you get the invalidated ward travel event with 2 or more wards. There are additional files that need to be updated as well (about 9) with the changes due to the travel mechanics.

FYI, this an compatibility with other mods is taken care of in my Super Compatch

Running into the same issue as Arkbot. I can designate myself as guardian, but if the ward needs to travel to my court, they do and then it says they are invalidated and they are teleported back home.

Using "Community Historicity modlist" only and does not seem to work. Ward limit 2 with 38 learning.

I ran into the same issue as Arkbot. My liege is bombarding me with ward requests for every new kid he sires ( a lot of them since it's a polygamous faith). But I'm already the warden for two of his kids and as soon as a new one completes its journey to my capital I get a message (in configurable news feed mod window) saying "ward invalidated" and the kid is teleported back to my liege's capital.
I have 17 learning and should thus qualify to take on a third ward but it wont accept a third ward when aquired in this way.

I'm still having trouble in 1.11.2 with travelling wards being sent back. I have to assume there's a check happening somewhere which is still hard-coded with a ward limit of 2.

I looked in your modded education interactions file and while there seems to be one check on line 422 that still checks for <= 2, changing that didn't seem to impact the issue I'm having.

I have a theory that the check is happening inside an event or trigger that starts the education when the child actually arrives from travelling. There's an arrival event called "A Mind to Mold" that fires when the kid arrives at my court, but only currently pops if I'm under the vanilla limit. Otherwise the kid turns back around. I'm looking for that event in the files but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

@Nomad this is the case with the other ward/education mod as well. Very annoying as it only works with your own courtiers.

First of all, thank you very much for the mod. I'm really enjoying your mod. :steamthumbsup:

Let me tell you one thing: After the recent 1.10 patch, attempting to educate the people of other rulers comes through 'travel'. The increased ward limit does not seem to be applied during this process. I will check again and come back.
