Brilliant mod

My biggest problem with premium DF is that I can't see the default ramps because they're way too busy all in one little area. I can hardly watch a video of someone playing it with default ramps, much less play it myself. This totally fixes that and it's gorgeous to boot. Cheers!

Is it compatible with Prspective walls?
Apustajer 25 apr. 2023 la 12:30
If it was up to you to decide then the concept of commenting on something wouldn't even exist ffs.
bobgoggles 5 apr. 2023 la 18:36
Actually the guy with the reasonable and respectful criticism is right. Its up to the creators to decide if they want to take it, not you.

i mean that guy has a point - if you dont like something then dont use it
mowsie2k 27 ian. 2023 la 13:36
go back to vanilla then lol no ones making you use it
Cyber-Freak 24 ian. 2023 la 16:49
It's a little too smooth and removes definition, I almost want to go back to vanilla.

Hey there, I uploaded a short video today on YouTube that mentions and talks about your mod a little! Check it out if you're interested.

I'm sure I'm missing something super basic, but so far I haven't been able to get the mod to work. I have it at the top of the load order, but after generating three worlds, I still see the vanilla visuals. Is there a step I'm missing?
Hikurac 28 dec. 2022 la 18:16
Looks a lot better imo. Wish this was used in vanilla.
zeeb 24 dec. 2022 la 11:28
Could've used a slightly smaller brush size when smoothing, but it looks dope regardless.
Good stuff.

Bueno!

@Sgt Kill Hard to pinpoint a cause, but i can offer a solution. The way mods are loaded is a bit weird, sounds like you had a save corruption, and i did add some things and increase mod compatibility between 1.0 and 1.5. It may have been any of them.

Either way, you can add this mod to an existing game if you copy the mod files over the vanilla files. The process is described in Larzo's comment in this thread. Note though, It will then show up in all of your games and you may need to do it again if Steam updates those files
Secure boot is bad 23 dec. 2022 la 6:30
Also to clarify, I started a world with this mod on, but my power went out after an early save. I went back after a day or two and the mod wasn't working, despite the mod being on and loaded with the world creation. Later that day I went to play and saw the mod had an update and it asked me if I wanted to update before loading the world, so I did. This initially made the rounded hills appear again, but after I saved and exited and went back after to play, the mod has not worked since. I should note that the game appears to see Rounded Hills 1.0 and Rounded Hills 1.5 as two separate mods somehow. So this could be part of the issue?

I had this mod working, but my power went out and I lost save progress. Then there was an update and I updated the mod and when I loaded into the world the hills were back to normal. Anyway to reset the mod without fucking up my save?

@Alex I have no problem with the devs taking this approach. I've offered to their new dev that I'd give it to bay 12 for free. If they add the tokens to allow all other terrain types I'll update and give those too
Lexyvil 22 dec. 2022 la 14:36
I'm curious: Because you made this mod, does that mean the Devs can't update their game to make it look like your hills? Because you've done it before them? Or can they still decide to implement this in the game with your permission? Because that is miles better than what we currently have and I'm surprised they're not contemplating on having this mod be part of the base game, knowing it's only a visual upgrade.
Lexyvil 22 dec. 2022 la 14:34
Out of all the mods I've seen so far, this one is my favourite. The types of mods that don't really add new features, but just adds improvement without changing the gameplay options at all.
Hellion 21 dec. 2022 la 3:19
BEST MOD EVER!
tpsSurvivoR 20 dec. 2022 la 7:26
feels much smoother! More natural, loved it!
Poss  [autor] 18 dec. 2022 la 0:49
@AleonR I'd like to add sand, but it appears the old ascii system used the same symbol for sand and soil hills, so we're stuck without sand hills. I'll keep looking for a way, but the documentation isn't updated yet so its a bit like poking around in the dark.

@Heller The approach in Larzo's comment will work on existing worlds.
Heller 13 dec. 2022 la 7:12
any way to add to an existing world?
A Nickel 12 dec. 2022 la 13:41
This looks 100x better than vanilla, should be implemented!
Poss  [autor] 12 dec. 2022 la 13:32
Mod load order should now be fixed in version 1.5 as it uses unique file names.

Also added soil and stone, though not entirely happy with the stone just yet as it seems to affect dwarven slopes.
Larzo 12 dec. 2022 la 12:12
Pretty sure the vanilla files have priority ,works fine if you replace the:
"Steam\steamapps\common\Dwarf Fortress\data\vanilla\vanilla_environment\graphics\images\ramps_grass" with the "ramps_grass" file from the mod.
Вомбат-Батяня 12 dec. 2022 la 12:10
Just put it on top of the mod list, and now it's workin!
Вомбат-Батяня 12 dec. 2022 la 11:50
Yeap, don't work for me as well, but round doors working fine.
Fish Man 12 dec. 2022 la 9:02
I'm having the same problem as Larzo.
Larzo 12 dec. 2022 la 2:37
Are you sure its working ? I made new world with this mod only and there is no change
klaxas77 11 dec. 2022 la 8:44
nice! I kinda wonder if all natural ramps should look like this and constructed ramps be sharper.
