I don't recall my laser eyes code causing issues when i was doing the superhero genes update, so this one is probably safe as well.

I love the mod, been waiting for something like this. Funny yes it seems OP and too weak. I honesty think it would be cool if i can laser limbs off.

Made a Superhuman xenotype with this, gave it to the Empire, and lost the colony after the second raid. 10/10

Ugh, ignoring armor is way too much. Maybe it's a CE thing... But then CE from what I know didn't really mess with lasers and this mod uses the same beam as mechs, so if mech lasers work so should the eye lasers. I'll probably comment if I get to use it on people, but maybe this needs CE patch anyways because while technically it works the range is too short and could be brought up to CE terms. Should be a single line in xml probably, maybe I'll even do it myself once I get some time.

It might be a problem with armor penetration. People using Yayo's Combat or other mods that change how it works seems to mean that the laser eyes can barely penetrate power armor. My suggestion is to just give it 100% penetration so that it can't be deflected with armor. The damage could stay the same, though I think it'd be better to have it force dismember or something.

Well, maybe it's op and too weak at the same time depending on "category" you look at. I also experienced low damage, but I only tested it on mechs, so thought it's because they're fireproof and whatnot. But if it's weak against people it could use a damage buff while getting some cooldown time.

Isn't it too op then? No ammo, no side effects, just free attack over and over again. Maybe it should burn eyes out if used too often, working similarly to neutral heobut with different consequences?

I noticed the description states 1 hour cooldown, but in reality there's no cooldown? Is this intentional?

@black onix you don’t get to start with those abilities, and you take very large risks and amounts of time to get random abilities and massive penalties. I wouldn’t equate the two.

Sure it’s balanced. In that if you fuck it up or piss off the RNG you either get a dead pawn or an even more deranged doomguy with no sense of friendly fire

"balanced" is subjective.
The mod you are talking about also adds a lot more besides just eyelayers and take a completely different approach than this one here.

No offense to the author but IMHO in mod "Vanilla Factions Expanded - Ancients" it's more balanced (eye shooting, obtaining this super power, etc.).
Plasteel claws, plasteel skeleton, limb regeneration, resurrection and eye laser :Frieza:

I agree that the sweep is cool and it doesn't need a buff or projectiles, i like it as is.
The free beam damage with no cooldown is already powerful on its own, catching them on fire from long range too is devastating.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure because laser is a weapon, after all, and CE sometimes can have weird interactions with other stuff.

Nah, you don't need to make simple projectiles. Messing with your laser's XML settings was enough to give it a direct-ish target while also still managing to look like it's adjusting for head movement and slight sweeping with eyes.

I just want a red laser lol. Ooh, and a yellow/gold one.
