(3/3) If I was to implement this now, I would probably add some Xen recipes specific to rebel-thrown Xen grenades. What if rebel Xen grenades spawn in vortigaunt reinforcements? That would be pretty intense. But when all is said and done, I think I'm fine with the rebels throwing standard grenades. That way the Xen grenades are specific to Bad Cop.

(2/3) It's really interesting playing it now through that lens. I find that Xen grenades thrown by rebels don't change the fight a whole lot, contrary to my expectations. They usually aim for the player and don't pick up many props, so they get zombies and headcrabs. One of my big concerns about this concept was blow back on the rebels who threw the grenades, like spawning an antlion guard that kills all the rebels for the player. That wasn't really an issue in this addon.

(1/3) I tried this addon out today.

Here's a fun dev story: Breadman asked me to do this while we were working on the game, I think some time during beta or late alpha. We didn't go through with it because I thought it would be problematic for a few design reasons. (Keep in mind, at that time, Xen grenades could pull the player physically! How annoying!)
