Wow, you actually did it, this is awesome! I will definitely be checking that out.

@ForgeKid I have created a spiritual successor to this mod! You can find it here:

Wookiee Server Options

It will allow you to rapidly add or remove mods... you cannot select mods (yet) but you can hold Ctrl and/or Shift to add 5, 10, or 20 mods at a time (5 for ctrl, 10 for shift, 20 for both). Can also remove mods 5, 10, or 20 at a time. And now the Randomize clothing button will actually work!

I am working on a spiritual successor to this mod that will be able to add big chunks of mods in bulk; you will not be able to select them, but the shortcuts I'm adding will allow you to add a batch of 5, 10, or 20, and then you can remove what you don't need from that batch.

Totally understandable. Well... it suffices to say that the situation is worse for gamepad users by far. They (we) have to scroll down the list (of 500+ mods) one item at a time...

...until I release my upcoming patch to let us scroll 5, 10, or 20 at a time by holding various combinations of L2 and R2.

No gamepad or controller, I thought about it though and might set it up later down the road.

99% of the time I'm adding mods that I've already had subscribed.

Well, it depends on how you're approaching it. If you are looking for 50 brand new mods, this is probably faster, because every time you read a mod page, the Workshop ID and Mod ID are right there at the bottom (unless someone intentionally removes them).

If you are talking about mods to which you've already subscribed, and now you're trying to enable them for the first time, using the menus is probably faster.

Do you use a gamepad, out of curiosity?

Thanks for the info. To me it seems as tedious if not more adding them this way than using the server host settings to be honest but I'll give it a try.

To be clear, map mods go in "Mods=" and "Map="; you may want to add maps via the menus, however, so that spawn points get added correctly.

That's fair. Just food for thought, if you are actively gathering a list of 100 or so mods for a server, you should consider copy-pasting the Workshop IDs and Mod IDs into a text editor as you go. Then you can visit...

%userprofile%/Zomboid/Server

...open your server's .ini, add the Workshop Item IDs where it says "WorkshopItems=" (separated by semi-colons, as in "WorkshopItems=2834352171;2878374713;2772575623;" et cetera), and add the semi-colon-separated Mod IDs where it says "Mods=" (e.g. "Mods=vino125;70dodge;74amgeneralM151A2"), and ALSO add the Mod IDs of the maps in that list where it says "Map=" (e.g., "Map=Trelai_4x4;Trelai_spawns;10YL"), and you're good to go. Generally speaking, if you just make 3 semi-colon separated lists as you go, that'll be faster than hunting through the menus for each mod one-by-one, if we're dozens or hundreds of mods.

I just know how much of a pain it can be to add a big ol modlist to a server and thought the addiction could take this mod to another level.

It does seem like a lot of work like you mentioned, and I wouldn't even know where to begin making it possible so If its not possible that's a bit of a bummer but oh well.

But hey, if it can't happen no worries, keep making stuff that you enjoy and keep it up! :)
Burryaga  [author] 19 Jan, 2023 @ 4:30am
Unfortunately, that would be quite a challenge because of all the ways it might conflict with other menus that use the same list type. I'm not saying never, but I have a lot of other modding goals right now that will do bigger things for the game in much less time, so I can't promise I'll have time to solve multiple element highlighting (if it's possible). The game uses your selection in the dropdown to choose what to highlight and how to move. I would have to deeply redesign how elements are highlighted, how the menu lets you move up and down, and what happens when you click or press A (or Cross).

Would it be possible to add the ability to select and add multiple mods at once in the server configuration settings? Would be a huge QOL

:steamhappy:

I noticed that when I opened the server options today and I could finally read the list, what a difference it makes. Thank you.
Burryaga  [author] 15 Dec, 2022 @ 9:28pm
@JOMBi Done. Enjoy!
JOMBi 3 Dec, 2022 @ 7:13am
Thanks, that tiny box for 1 million mods was one of my pet hates about the game. I hope you get better soon.
Burryaga  [author] 3 Dec, 2022 @ 6:30am
Honestly I could probably figure that out @JOMBi. I have been pretty sick but I'll look into it when I'm modding again.
JOMBi 3 Dec, 2022 @ 4:48am
Thanks for this, it's appreciated. Any chance we could also get that box expanded vertically as well? So much unused space of the screen and so many mods to scroll through.
Alkanshel 25 Nov, 2022 @ 4:17pm
Sent you some screenshots over DM.
Alkanshel 25 Nov, 2022 @ 4:05pm
Yeah I can do that.
Burryaga  [author] 25 Nov, 2022 @ 3:55pm
@Alkanshel Can you DM me via the Project Zomboid Discord about those screenshots? I am not seeing what you mean. I can see my capacity even at 4x Font on 4K... what I cannot see, however, is the word "Inventory" or the words "Transfer All" because they're written on top of each other. I am wondering if the issue is different on different systems, or has changed after a patch, or what. Thanks!
Alkanshel 18 Nov, 2022 @ 5:13pm
That would help so many users. It's a common complaint on Reddit. The official stance from Indiestone is that <3% of users play at these high resolutions so I don't expect it to ever get fixed. if you need screenshots or anything feel free to message me.
Burryaga  [author] 18 Nov, 2022 @ 5:09pm
Interesting. I'm working on several mods right now, but I'll definitely take a look when I have time and see if I can solve that!
Alkanshel 17 Nov, 2022 @ 7:30pm
yo.. nice. You should make a small mod that makes container capacity more legible for 2k+ resolution users. As of now the container name overlaps part of the capacity and makes it hard to tell how much you have in a container.
