Well seeing as the Mod works, if your using Rimpy, Select the Mod, Right Click on the mod and select browse folder. Their will be two files. Edit the About.xml in Notepad, and their will be one line

<li>1.5</li>

So just duplicate and edit that line below it to be

<li>1.6</li>

And their Rimpy no longer is complaining about the Mod. That file should not change unless the Mod author actually updates the file, and then I would hope he would apply that fix himself.

Kowhaifan 11 Jul @ 10:18pm
yeah it does work as is, would be nice if you removed the warning though.

Ludeon probably won't change anything related to shelves or toxic waste this next patch, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could just run this as is and ignore the version warning when 1.6 rolls around.

will this be updated to 1.6?

This mod is a godsend. It's so absurd how much space it takes up to keep Toxic Waste from deteroriating in Vanilla. 20 days into my current playthrough a Quest offered me a Masterword Heavy SMG in exchange for taking on 90 Toxic Waste. Such an insane and absolutely unfun concept to store them on the floor in stacks of 5.

thank you!

1.5 is now working, 1.4 support is gone tho, check the change notes if you need to revert cus you're still on 1.4 for some reason.

That change doobik10 did should work great. Sorry I haven't officially updated yet, I haven't had free time to play or mod.

Same, love this mod.

I'd recommend those looking for a way to actually *store* wastepacks for later disposal or use look into Adaptive Storage Framework (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3033901359) and Waste Bin for ASF (https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3223174260) as it will allow you to build a Waste Bin that can then store several categories of waste, including modded types.

It's a good, modern solution to the issue of wastepack storage.

I'm not sure if this is a good fix as I'm very unfamiliar with Rimworld patching but being as how I really love this mod and can rarely play without it nowadays I figured I'd have a look at the tags and see if I could get it working again.

Looks like if you change the [@Name = "ShelfBase"] to "StorageShelfBase", the mod loader will stop throwing any errors and the game starts showing it again as an option in the shelf interface.

I haven't actually tested it much yet and obviously don't want to post it as a separate mod but if anyone else like me wants to make it work again in the meantime this might be a solution.

this aint working in 1.5, gives a bunch of errors and im pretty sure is causing storage problems.
BoostHungry 14 Apr, 2024 @ 6:39pm
Confirmed not working for 1.5

[Toxic Wastepack on Shelves] Patch operation Verse.PatchOperationRemove(Defs/ThingDef[@Name = "ShelfBase"]/building/fixedStorageSettings/filter/disallowedThingDefs/li[text()="Wastepack"]) failed

Getting this error on load atm.

probably lol, edit the about.xml if the version warning bothers you. Since its just an xml patch if they didn't change the name of toxic wastepacks in 1.5's xml it should transfer over a-ok. I won't officially update until dlc drops because I haven't played yet.

1.5?

If you have it set on the shelves and they successfully put 2 on its probably a priority issue, make sure the shelves are higher than any dumping/regular stockpiles set to take toxic wastepacks or they won't haul them over. It's like how the bury option won't show up if graves are lower priority than stockpiles set for human corpses.

I have no idea what my issue is. My people super do not want to put toxic waste packs on the shelves even when they're set for it. Finally got them to place 2 on it but then they returned to acting like it isn't an option

thank you!

This should be in the base game

"What if we take these bags and just...put them on this shelf over here?"
Brilliant little fix
I can see this mod finding its way into Tweaks Galore
