You can prevent crash by first removing all industry extensions and only then remove the main building of the industry. It is the reason I didn't release this kind of mod to workshop - I personally created such mod for myself about year ago.

So... the weird thing about the non-city industries. I originally set them to removable, but a strange thing happened: Sometimes -only sometimes- when I removed one that had extensions the entire application would crash instantly. Since this never happened with any of the industries within towns, I left those alone. However with the natural resources such as forests and mines, I did not make those removable out of fear that it would be crashing users games right and left.

If you're feeling brave, all of the XML to make mines removable is still in the config/building_types.xml file. Remove the comments for those lines and the mines will be removable. Should you do this, please let me know if you do, or do not, experience any game crashes. I would love to know if it is just me!

There are now images. To remove industries, use the bulldozer tool just as if you were removing houses and roads. I just tested it again. It worked fine (although the test was only the first era.) Please let me know if you continue to have problems.
