Does not work well with Open and Eat or AutoCooking. For both of these mods, it will always prefer improvised opening versus regular, even if you have a can opener on you.

Is this compatible with multiplayer or servers?
Goblin Conscript 12 Mar, 2023 @ 11:21am
would you please add compatability for post-soviet items' canned goods?

Should have a chance of scratch the hands too, right?

Hi Wagons, yes you can use it as you like, no problem :)

Hi, I'm representing a larger server and was wondering if we could please put your mod in a mod pack for our server. This is specifically for our own manageability, reduced workshop update restarts, version control, and server longevity between wipes. The modpack would be private and all recognition of the mods inside will be given to the owners of those mods. We appreciate any leeway you can give us on this, so we can provide our players with the best experience.

If I have a can opener, will that take priority? I notice sometimes I still get injured but idk if that's vanilla
michi  [author] 2 Dec, 2022 @ 6:00am
There's other mods that apply injuries when open cans, but seems to be a very drastic disaventage for only open one can. This alternative is for add a more playable mechanic. Anyway if you don't like it, you can choose not use it.

ps: video is just for show the ways to open cans, maybe in a zombie apocalypse it's different. And maybe in a videogame too.

25 and 50 the guy in the video dident spill a drop i wood probebly cut my hand befor spilling 50 %
add it so you cut your hand and at worse spill 20 %
MadamR 20 Nov, 2022 @ 1:05pm
You added a YouTube video where the guy opens the cans with various items without spilling any food at all, but in the mod there is a chance between 25 and 50?
How about cutting your hand instead as a debuff? The real life cans were quite sharp, and the dude was wearing gloves too
BigHillsBigLegs 7 Nov, 2022 @ 9:35pm
pls let me throw it at a zed and have it open that way
OxyJay 7 Nov, 2022 @ 3:08am
Standard cans without leashes are also easy to open with your hands.
Salzlawine 6 Nov, 2022 @ 7:47pm
maybe cans with leashes werent a thing in the 90s idk
michi  [author] 3 Nov, 2022 @ 10:37pm
I see it more like a game mechanic more than a realistic way of open cans.
Think that there is a item that you need to find that allows you get more food from cans.
In a sandbox with very low food drop, this can be an interesting mechanic.

I opened canned food with my hands more than once. There are even videos on YouTube showing how to do it, it's easy. Why can openers are needed at all - I don’t understand.
Highlandman 27 Oct, 2022 @ 9:52pm
Oh, sorry, I didn't notice. Many thanks for the mod!
michi  [author] 27 Oct, 2022 @ 7:13pm
They are two separated actions.

When you have a can opener in your inventory, does the character prefer to use it?
