To be honest, I did this so long ago I don't quite remember.
I think the hands are higher poly than they seem at first glance, necessary for them to look good at such a short distance from the camera.

On top of that, the original model is not optimized (Has a pretty high polygon count that could be significantly reduced), and the view model includes a good chunk of her arms (necessary for certain weapons and tools that use much more than a bit of the forearms and hands).

All that must've contributed to the file size.

is there a reason this susie, including darkworld, is four times the file size of the original? are hands that big??

To everyone who has this addon not working. Delete the original playermodel addon if you have it installed. Disabling it won't help, but deleting will

@glugirl I don't think I can. All I did with Susie's was update the first person model (and necessary functions for it to work. The Berdly model you posted is an SFM model, so I'd have to do a whole other process to rig it. Sorry.
