10/10!
1. Loved the atmospheric lighting. - wish sometimes I had a light so I could make sure a corner/dead end was empty and not just dark.
2. Liked the puzzles a lot, the flare and barrel ones were favorites.
3. The one issue I had was the plug puzzle. I had the solution correct but did not see the door open so I thought I had it wrong. Spent longer here than any other puzzle, I wish there was a clearer indicator that I had solved it, either audible or visual. The small panel cannot be seen from most of the room. Traversal component of the puzzle was no problem.
A visual treat!
i got stuck a couple times, mainly cause i wasent expecting certain things
its really good map tho well done
I only found the plug puzzle a bit far fetched.
Walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtF1CvEv56s
great atmosphere
But I don't think it followed the rules, and wouldn't say it wins 1st.
When you try to blow up the three Barnacles by feeding them the lit up flare, it does nothing, resulting in disappointment. The solution to just throw the flare is okay, but feels unrewarding. The electric room was extremely tedious since there is no socket for the power cable to plug into and also no indicator, to show the player that the door has been unlocked by the current. Getting stuck there by moving the crates into deep water should be prevented as well.
The map manages to create a sense of vulnerability that is unfortunately completely missing in the original game. The gloomy atmosphere of failing systems, the spreading Xen infestation, the absence of weapons, and the lethal damage from missteps all contribute significantly to this. All in all, 3/5 stars, 5/5 if the above problems were to be fixed.
