Putting it above SFO earlier in the order makes the greatswords work but nothing else does as I think SFO alters those skins.

It doesn't conflict with SFO. If it somehow doesn't take effect just place it above SFO.

Not sure about SFO conflicts I'll have to check that out.


And I actually forgot about crossbow men somehow, I'll chuck together some variants for them soonish. Thank you!

Very nice looking mod. Any thoughts about giving the crossbowmen some new variants too? The vanilla ones are quite basic, and historically crossbows were used along the matchlocks so they'd fit right in.

I'd love to be able to make it compatible with sigmars heirs since I love that mod and plan to use it in future campaigns, but my modding capabilities solely lie in creating assets haha.

As for the beards I can definitely incorporate those into my mod. Thanks for the suggestions!

Love the work you have done, but I really hope you could use some of the beards Ado uses in his Lorefriendly Empire Reskin and make a submod for or make it compatible with sigmars heirs by adding some more heraldry for the different provinces

Alright so how it works is only the first five models in a variantmeshdefinition will work, however if you create separate groups with five models in each, you can link these groups in the variantmeshdefinition like this:

<VARIANT_MESH_REFERENCE definition="variantmeshes\variantmeshdefinitions\landsknecht_troops_01.variantmeshdefinition" />


<VARIANT_MESH_REFERENCE definition="variantmeshes\variantmeshdefinitions\landsknecht_troops_02.variantmeshdefinition" />

and so on. This way you will end up with 25 different models that can show up.

It's confusing to explain so feel free to add me and I can send a screenshot!

hey Cornelius ,i just finished importing the models i made for warhammer 2 to warhammer 3.You got 2 more matchlock musket models and 5 wheelock pistol models if you are interested (they got the warhammer 2 texture too which makes the metal pop more and be less dark and the engraving appear less muted).Anyway ,cheers, love the aethestic of the empire in your mod.

Awesome mod, really gives much needed visual flare to this early-modern style army. In regards to your future plans, please make the the colors unique to their faction/elector county rather than being random colors.

that is no issue, that is how it works (changes in the same table override eachother and hooveric just loads first cause of his name no matter the load order)

@GoodSmurfin I would have gladly made a submod for this, but in PFM this mod is completely different in tables.
Looks like there are no slots for the head, body and legs.
So I honestly have no idea how to work on it.

If you do get to the cavalry, I think it would be best if you kept it all consolidated, easier to have it all as one mod instead of ten quintillion for all the individual stuff. This reskin though, its stellar, its really nice.

Any chance of giving the spearmen, swordsmen, and crossbowmen the fancy get ups as well? I do like the rugged look but the halberdiers and handgunners just look so dope that the others need it aswell

Amazing work, The Empire definitely need visual overhaul vanilla models are mehhh never liked them. 6th Edition absolutely nailed the look of the Empire imho, capturing the same Landsknecht fashion.

My Friend excelent work, just make the halbadiers less amored, its to much, more like the Swordsmen and Spearmen, man the job u did on them is just amazing, as others said theres some unit model on Greatswords that looks silly without armor, keep it on your doing a great job.

For the black texture armor thing, the real fix is converting all your models to wsmodels using Asset Editor. Since that can be a slow process, you can temporarily overwrite the Empire factions uniform colors to make the tertiary color white. See my Extra Variants: Empire Captains for that (the faction tables) you're welcome to just take that table entry, just change the name but keep the "zzzz" prefix so it's last in load order. That way a deliberate faction reskin takes precedent. Delete that table once you've done the wsmodel conversions.

I think some Greatsword models should have more armor plates because in game the armor point of greatsword is 95, so the unit should look better armored than other kinds.
However, I think the present greatsword look very realistic historically as ʟᴀɴᴅsᴋɴᴇᴄʜᴛs zweihander :D

Cornelius, I guess there appears to be a "black texture" bug on one of the greatswords armor skins. Maybe you have a look at it by times. I have no other mod active besides yours after patch 2.2. Thx and keep it going.
