@Krankhar unfortunate. I guess the game won't register it as a research unlock then. I don't think there is an easy way to work around this so consider this mod soft incompatible with it

Don't know if it's fixable, but I play with an all research mode, and the upgrades don't detect that the research ahve been researched T1 ^^

A suggestion: As a point of authenticity, 'studded armour' is not a real historical thing, and it's also not what high elves wear. Suggest calling it scale mail/armour, or cuirasses (a fancy word for breastplates).

All righty, fair enough! My apologies for being mistaken, I didn't know all that had been changed over as I took a long absence from the game until the recent expansion.

@Hegemon the "normal" menu you got when clicking on unit cards does not exist anymore since 6.0. The scrap menu button at the bottom is the only way to open the upgrade menu in the current version of the game

Subsequent fiddling shows that you can upgrade some things in the scrap menu, it just says you don't have enough but that isn't a hard thing. Either way, it's finicky.

So, I've been troubleshooting with this mod, because it isn't displaying like it should. The normal menu that pops up when you click on the unit card isn't appearing, so unless it's been merged with the scrap upgrade that shows up in the bottom right, I don't think it's working. And in the case of the scrap upgrade menu, I should have enough Splendor to upgrade basic Spearmen, but that option isn't available. Even when you hover over the basic chevron sitting on the unit card that indicates it can be upgraded, it just displays a black screen with a cross in the center.

And to give a bit of credence to this, I turned off every other mod I had activated, just in case there was some conflict triggering, and the problem still persisted. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled just to be sure, and that hasn't solved the problem.

you might be using a mod that bricks your UI then. Try disabling any UI related mods and see if it works

I think increasing the gain is not neccessary but the limit is ... well limiting a little bit too well. :D
I still enjoy the mod the way it is right now, though. :)

@Gecko 2.6 maybe i might have been min maxing splendour gain too hard in my campaigns then. I think I will increase the splendour gain even more since the cap is supposed to be the major limiting factor in this mod and give you a sense of campaign progression

Actually I upgraded my units in other mods( even in a mod where Khemri Upgrades use their bloody dustcans) far more, because it was easier to. but with the low cap of Splendour, I am not really able to even get any higher upgrade that would be actually meaningfull. The cost-efficeincy is a little off.
But that is allright. The dwarven warriors need their special gold as well, so I actually like it. No one ever said that every faction has to be cost efficient! The upgrades are still viable options. I played as Alith Anar and was able to get a good shadow walker/warrior army early on because I upgraded only armor (since my limit was 25, I was not able to upgrade anyting else) and this army is still alive and kicking by round 30. The upgrades are not as "cheap" or strong as other factions upgrades but somehow they are still a viable option.

@Gunthaa additional lords actually increase your splendour gain per turn when they have positive traits. Only the negative ones decrease it. The initially low cap is there to give an incentive to use the cheap upgrades early on instead of pooling splendour to maximise your high tier starting units. To be honest I feel like in all campaigns I played with this I upgraded more units than with the other mods

This is hands down one of the weakest upgrade mods out of your selection.

Splendour is capped so far below the cost of the unit upgrades that you can first start using it several dozens of turns into a campaign, and by this point you will probably have 2 additional lords - shame on you, because each of these lords halves your splendour income so you'll very quickly end up with 0 splendour income per turn.

I'm sure there's some strategies, like stacking nobles, that make this mechanic viable, but it's overall much less available than your other unit upgrade mods.
