I find the cosmetic set to be great however
Shame I won't be able to complete a disco costume, though...
I also agree with others who suggest splitting this into two separate cosmetics. I'd love to use those flared pants in a disco loadout, or the wrapped arms/gi for a brawler costume, but the current combination of both limits one's options...
Silhouettes in TF2 are for the purpose of class readability at distances, a huge part of that is pose. The size of these pants doesn't interfere with that readability because demoman's familiar stance isn't obscured. Changing silhouettes isn't a problem so long as it doesn't interfere with readability. https://i.imgur.com/WTq0gf7.gif
Demo is the only class aside from pyro whose pants are red. Maintaining that color still signifies him regardless of silhouette change. I'd argue the breakneck baggies are worse for readability, since they break demo's unique color distribution
I can only beg you to make an accompanying weapon for this, maybe a reference to the old kung-fu martial arts films. The Wu-Tang Whopper may be a great name for one.
