Don't know why SCS didn't fix it though. They absolutely should.
My biggest concern is what I found with other steering mods as well, is that keyboard steering mods seems to conflict with in game truck physics (maybe coding).
The way the mod is made, that is it ensures a minimum of steering input at higher speeds, this should already make you steering wheel turn slower at slow speeds.
Be careful, asking for a time to adapt to the new behavior is necessary.
Can I ask is there a why to make the curve steeper?
